Help improve the quality of life for an entire village by working on basic water and sanitation projects. Under the direction of El Porvenir, a nonprofit organization supporting self-help development in rural Nicaragua, you’ll rehabilitate wells or build a latrine or lavandero (village washing facility). Your efforts will ensure clean water and sanitation facilities that reduce disease, resulting in healthier families, especially children.

Highlights
• In Managua, visit the National Palace, the President's House, the old and new cathedrals and more.
• Learn about Nicaraguan health care firsthand as you visit the primary doctor at a local health clinic.
• Enjoy a traditional song-and-dance performance by a local group of villagers.
