We invite you to discover lovely Amelia Island and the surrounding community as you examine the Civil War from a Southern perspective. Learn about the impact of these differences on the outcome of the war as well as war's effects on soldiers' health, the experiences of surgeons, and how dealing with battlefield injuries helped doctors improve upon antebellum medicine, paving the way for further advances after the war. Your program includes a free pass to Ft. Clinch, a remarkable and scenic Civil War-era fort situated where the St. Mary's and Amelia Rivers converge with the Atlantic Ocean.

Program in association with the Amelia Island Museum of History.
