Astronomy - Stargaze at 9,000 ft on the slopes of Mauna Kea. Gain a better appreciation of the collaboration to understand celestial history and presence through lectures and visits to the Subaru Base Facility, Keck Observatory and Onizuka Space Center. Ancient Lore - Dynamics of a symbiotic relationship with the Hawaiian culture and modern day science are discussed in lectures and presentations by cultural specialists instilled with the wisdom, perception and knowledge passed on by our Hawaiian kupuna (elders). The Aina - Your trek through the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and Puuhonua o Honaunau (City of Refuge), reveals the ancient connectivity to the land and its people. Rainforests, waterfalls, and abundant marine life are proof that the cycle remains intact.
