By land and sea, discover the magic of Baja California with your grandchildren. Snorkeling and kayaking excursions introduce the region’s diverse marine ecosystem, while field trips to museums and local artisan shops immerse you in the local culture.



Highlights

Snorkel with sea lions on Espiritu Santo Island.

Learn about the conservation efforts at the Cactimundo Los Cabos Botanical Gardens and visit the Estero de San Jose, a tropical sanctuary for more than 200 species of birds.

Participate in a soccer game with local families on Tecolote Beach.



Program Particulars

This Intergenerational program is for Participant participants and young learners ages 9-12.



Activity Particulars

Participants must have good swimming skills, feel comfortable on a 40-foot boat and swimming in deep but crystal-clear water. Snorkeling instruction provided; safety vests required/provided. Snorkeling field trips are weather dependent.

Coach to La Paz

Begin your exploration of Baja California with an exploration of San Jose del Cabo, a town once known as a refuge for pirates. Discover rare species of plants at the Cactimundo Botanical Garden, and explore the nearby 125-acre marsh habitat of Estero de San Jose, where bird watching is a popular activity. Arrive in La Paz for an overview of the city and a field trip to the Museum of Anthropology to learn about Baja California’s fascinating culture, ecosystem and geologic history. Participate in a soccer match with the locals on Tecolote Beach, snorkel and kayak at Balandra Beach, and have the opportunity to swim with sea lions on a boat excursion to Espirito Santo Island, as well as to snorkel and kayak.



Lodging: Hotel in Cabo San Lucas is near downtown; hotel in La Paz is downtown and offers beautiful views of La Paz Bay.

On your return to San Jose Del Cabo, visit the town of Todos Santos, a unique desert sanctuary that is situated between mango orchards and palm trees and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Here, a local expert holds an informative discussion on the desert plants native to the area.



Lodging: Hotel is within walking distance of downtown.
