Take an active part in helping to restore Maine seabirds by joining pioneering researcher, Dr. Stephen Kress, and other Project Puffin biologists with National Audubon Society's internationally renowned Seabird Restoration Program. Work alongside Audubon biologists in a variety of seasonally relevant conservation projects while enjoying the rare opportunity to land on seabird islands that are otherwise off-limits to all but researchers. Participate in discussions on seabird identification, bird banding, adaptations, migration, ecology and conservation led by Audubon staff. This program is based at Audubon's Hog Island Camp in Muscongus Bay, best known for their enthusiastic world-class ornithology instructors.

Walking up to two miles daily on uneven, rugged terrain. Agility to get in and out of small boat onto rocky and often slippery shore.

Bremen

Before William Hilton settled the area as part of Bristol, Maine, Abenaki tribes spent summers in the area of modern Bremen hunting shellfish on Keene Neck, leaving behind shell middens as evidence. At the end of Keene Neck in Muscongus Bay is Hog Island, site of a camp operated by the National Audubon Society’s Maine chapter.
