Play golf at historic Shawnee golf course where PGA champions have played. Graced with magnificent trees, picturesque mountains and a beautiful river, this course was A. W. Tillinghast’s original design, completed in 1907. PGA Professionals introduce the significance of the game of golf and the basics of play including history, etiquette and rules. Professional instructors demonstrate techniques in this entertaining and informative series. Good golf etiquette, a strong grasp of the rules and basic practice are emphasized. This program is appropriate for golfers of all abilities and ages. Instructional and practice activities take place in the morning. After lunch play nine holes with a coach.



Mandatory golf carts provided. Rental clubs available with prior arrangement. Metal spikes not permitted.

Joe Manley



Joe Manley is the head golf professional at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort in Pennsylvania. He came to Shawnee as the assistant head professional in 2003 and became head pro in 2005. Joe graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in Recreation and Leisure Services Management. He enjoy instructing golfers on Road Scholar programs and also teaches many junior camps in addition to overseeing all golf programs at Shawnee.
