Spend a week singing two of Vaughan Williams glorious extended works for choir, 'Five Mystical Songs', and 'Five English Folk Songs', surrounded by additional items composed by his contemporaries from other lands. Items will be chosen by composers from France [e.g. Ravel (with whom Vaughan Williams studied) & Debussy], America [e.g. Virgil Thomson & Horatio Parker], Russia [e.g Chesnakov, Rachmaninov, and possibly Stravinsky], and other lands as time permits. As in past years, several selections will be presented at the beginning of week, from which will be chosen the items appearing on the final concert. An opportunity to expand your knowledge of choral works, and have a great time doing it!

Program in association with the Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center.

Abingdon
