Day 5: Coach to Split to begin main program

Flanked by Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, and other Balkan states, Croatia’s crescent-shaped border reveals the transformative history of foreign invasions and more recent Communist collapse. More than 1,700 tiny inlets and islands sprinkle the nation’s Adriatic coast, while beneath the water’s surface rest shipwrecks and cargo from the Greeks through World War II.
