Mary Kingseed

Mary Kingseed obtained her B.A. degree from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. and her M.S. degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz majoring in history and secondary education. She taught United States history for 29 years at the middle and high school levels. She also taught in the honors history program and was the History Department chair for 10 years.
 
Benjamin Nelson

Benjamin Nelson graduated with a B.A. and M.F.A. from Columbia University and conducted post graduate studies at New York University. He was a professor of English and comparative literature at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. from 1962-2007, and is now Professor Emeritus. Benjamin is an author and the recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award for Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Educator's Award from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
 
Kevin Farrell

Col. Kevin Farrell, Ph.D., USA Ret., is the former chief of International and military history at the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He earned his bachelor’s degree at West Point in 1986, his master’s in philosophy at Columbia University in 1997 and his PhD. at Columbia University in 1999. He is a former career United States Army officer having served as a Combat Battalion Commander in Iraq. Currently, he is the chief operating officer of Battlefield Leadership, LLC.
 
Joseph Corso

Joseph Corso earned a master’s in English with an emphasis on creative writing and Shakespeare at Queens College, the City University of New York, in 1992. He also studied English and Shakespeare at Cambridge University in England. Joseph has been on faculty at the Great Neck Public School's Adult Program and the Sewanaka Central High School District Continuing Education Program in Elmont, NY.
 
Ann Kelleher

Dr. Ann Kelleher earned a bachelor’s in political science at Michigan’s Hope College, a master’s in political science at Northwestern University and a Ph.D. in international studies at the University of Denver. Dr. Kelleher was on faculty at Washington’s Pacific Lutheran University from 1980-2012, and currently is executive director of the Center for Global Engagement at Washington’s Gonzaga University.

  FROM BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS Take Interstate 90 south to Interstate 84 south through Connecticut into New York. Proceed to Route 17 (Exit 4 E). Take 17 east to Exit 124 (Goshen, NY). Proceed on 17 A south through Florida, NY. Continue to take 94 south through the village of Warwick, NY to Pennings Lane. Turn left onto Pennings Lane to Hoyt Road. Turn left onto Hoyt Road watching for The Warwick Conference Center on your right.
  FROM CONNECTICUT Take Rt 84 West to Exit 4E, taking Route 17 East to Route 17A Florida/Goshen Exit 124. Take Route 17A until it merges with Rt 94 at the first traffic light in Florida. Drive THROUGH the Villages of Florida and Warwick. Stay on Rt 94 South until Pennings Lane. Turn Left onto Pennings Lane. Follow the signs to The Warwick Center.

  FROM WASHINGTON, D.C./PHILADELPHIA AREA Take the New Jersey Turnpike to the Garden State Parkway North to Route 17 North. Approximately 2 1/2 miles past Tuxedo Park you will come to a traffic light. Exit left at the traffic light - Junction 17A. At the stop sign at the top of the hill, make a left hand turn onto Rt 17A (Sterling Forest). Rt 17A will take you directly to Warwick. Daily Schedule

Day 1:
(Sunday, October 26)
   
 Afternoon: Arrive at The Warwick Conference Center in late afternoon for check-in beginning at 4:30 p.m. Enjoy a Wine and Cheese Reception and introduce yourself to fellow participants.
 Dinner: Dinner is in the East House Dining Hall. Enjoy a bountiful buffet with entrées varying from turkey, pork, chicken, beef, and fish. Dinner will include a fresh salad bar, vegetables, potatoes, rolls, and dessert. All meals at The Warwick Conference Center include a vegetarian option.
 Evening: (All itinerary details subject to change.) Following dinner there will be a time of introductions and an orientation session to familiarize everyone with The Warwick Conference Center and the week's activities.

Day 2: Enjoy a Wine Tasting at the Demarest Hill Winery located in Warwick.
(Monday, October 27)
   
 Breakfast: Wake up to a hearty breakfast buffet. Daily entrées will rotate, but you can look forward to a variety of breakfast foods including scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, ham, bacon, oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, cold cereal, and hot coffee, tea, and orange juice.
 Morning: Two morning lectures. The topics are: "Conflicts in the Arab World". Break. "Conflicts in the Arab World".
 Lunch: Enjoy a buffet lunch in the East House Dining Hall with entrées including a variety of the following: soup, sandwiches, paninis, pasta, salad bar, and a dessert.
 Afternoon: Afternoon lecture on the topic: "Grounds for Sculpture". The lecture will be followed by free time with the option to visit a local winery, the Demarest Hill Winery, and enjoy a Wine Tasting. Pool and hiking trails also available.
 Dinner: A plentiful buffet dinner will be served in the East House Dining Hall.
 Evening: Lecture: "Grounds for Sculpture". Evening Snack.

Day 3: Visit Pacem in Terris, a six acre sculpture garden which contains some 70 large-scale sculptures.
(Tuesday, October 28)

Note: Be prepared to walk up to an hour on uneven ground. Sturdy, comfortable shoes are highly recommended.



   
 Breakfast: Enjoy a hearty country breakfast served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.
 Morning: Lecture on the topic: "Bioethics Conversations". Break. Lecture continues on the topic: "Bioethics Conversations".
 Lunch: A hearty and satisfying buffet lunch will be served in the East House Dining hall.
 Afternoon: Enjoy walking through the peaceful sculpture gardens of Pacem in Terris created by Dr. Frederick Franck, a Dutch-born sculptor, painter, and author. This quiet sanctuary contains some 70 large-scale sculptures in steel, stone, wood and glass.
 Dinner: Dinner served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.
 Evening: Evening lecture on the topic: "Bioethics Conversations" followed by Evening Snack.

Day 4: Enjoy the gardens and sculptures at Kykuit, the home of four generations of Rockefellers. Also enjoy a visit to The Storm King Art Center which focuses on monumental sculptures from the 1960 to the present.
(Wednesday, October 29)

Note: Be prepared to walk on hilly terrain and many steps. This is not recommended for persons with balance or mobility problems. Sturdy shoes are highly recommended.



   
 Breakfast: Enjoy a hearty country breakfast served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.
 Morning: Board the charter bus for Sleepy Hollow, NY to immerse yourself in the gardens at Kykuit. The docent-led visit includes the morning and brook gardens, the Italian garden, the Adam and Eve fountain area, as well as several terraced areas featuring classical and contemporary sculpture.
 Lunch: We will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Board the bus for Mountainville, NY for a docent-led visit to The Storm King Art Center. The Art Center is a museum that celebrates the relationship between sculpture and nature. It's 500-plus acres of landscaped fields, rolling hills, meadows, and woodlands provide a dramatic setting for more than 100 post-World War II sculptures by internationally renowned artists.
 Dinner: Enjoy buffet dinner in the East House Dining Room.
 Evening: Evening entertainment followed by an evening snack.

(Thursday, October 30)
   
 Breakfast: A hearty country breakfast will be served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.

 Lunch: Lunch served buffet style in the East House dining hall.
 Afternoon: Afternoon lecture will be on the topic: "The Comedy of Life" followed by free time.
