The cost of the shuttle and time travel may compensate for a ticket price difference. In addition, while not required, we recommend to rent a car for your time here. This will assist you in getting around to other locations during free time. Normally, participants call when they make airline reservations, then confirm a day or two before flight.

Please visit flybranson.com for information on this very close airport. While it is not required, we advise renting a car to help with travel during free time opportunities. Unfortunately the hotel does not offer a shuttle service for the airport.

 
Driving Directions
  To the Grand Plaza Regardless of your direction of arrival, (from the north if from Springfield, or the south if from Arkansas) exit onto MO Highway 76 at Branson. To get to the Grand Plaza, proceed west for about two and a half (2.5) miles then turn north at the King's Castle Theater (this is just across from the Grand Palace) and proceed down the hill approximately one/fourth mile. The Grand Plaza can be easily seen once you make this turn. The Grand Plaza is located at 245 North Wildwood. It is easy to find.
Elevation Note: The highest elevation participants will experience is 1,000 feet.

Equipment Requirements: All grandchildren and grandparents will put on a 5-10 minute skit at the end of the week. It can be of anything you like - dialogue, dancing, singing, etc. IF you would like to bring recorded music, please try to have it on a CD. We are sorry but there is not a piano. This skit is a bonding time for you both and is meant to be fun and encouraging to everyone. It is destined to be a great time for all. Day 1: Register, Orientation, Dinner, and Get to Know Your Fellow Participants

 Dinner: Arrival time for the program is 4:30 p.m. The first evening includes an introduction of the sponsoring personnel, an orientation to the program, dinner, and get-acquainted activities.---
 Evening: We will also have a brief introduction to Branson to excite you for the coming week! Please be aware that program activities and schedule times could change due to local circumstances. In the event of any changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding!--- We will prepare for an exciting journey into the Branson Show Biz scene and what has and still does make it so popular. Get rest tonight as it is an exciting educational journey ahead of you!---

Day 2: Lecture on History of Branson Entertainment, Performance Principles, Story Telling, and Folk Songs. Watch the amazing horse theatrical show - Dixie Stampede!

 Morning: Lecture on the history of Branson Discover the shows that have made Branson the 'Live Entertainment Capitol' of the world. Look at how this sleepy little town is now host to over 100 shows, more theater seats than Broadway, and over 7 million visitors a year. Start your examination of how performers often mold and are molded by the area they live. Presenter: Sarah Klinefelter, C of O Media Professor—

Workshop on Theater Basics and Games: Well acted and written characters grow or develop through the play. Get a great introduction to the world of the stage and most importantly - characters! Be reintroduced to your basics (one of the most important pieces of acting. Presenter: Dallen Gettling, Extraordinary Local Performer
 Lunch: Light lunch in the restaurant
 Afternoon: Lecture on the art of Musical Storytelling: Meet a real life troubadour (a strolling singer or minstrel) and learn the art of musical story telling. The lecturer is a featured performer at Silver Dollar City and has several CD featuring his amazing art. Presenter: Danny Eakin, Silver Dollar City Story Teller and Folk Song Artist
 Dinner: Participants eat a super fun-filled meal at the family-oriented Dixie Stampede dinner show
 Evening: Dinner is followed by a beautiful and dynamic performance of entertainers and comedians singing, dancing, and riding majestic horses. With 32 horses, dozens of cast members, live buffalo, amazing ostrich races, magic and seating for 1,000 around a 35,000 square-foot arena at each facility. We will arrive early and take a stroll by the outdoor stable area where you can get a preview of the magnificent performers – the horses themselves!

 Morning: Workshop on Performance: Further develop your character skills and theatrical movement abilities in this fun and interactive lecture. Presenters: Mark Young, Extraordinary Local Performer

Take a trip on the adventurous 'Ride The Ducks' sightseeing tour! Your duck ride combines fun and music with history and sights aboard a one of a kind amphibious vehicle. You will Ride through the Ozarks, Splashdown into the Lake for a fun cruise. While on the lake you can drive the duck (if you want). Your Captain will en-tour-tain you with stories of past and present. Learn about Ozark Mountain history, the lakes, its famous personalities and its impact on the state and our nation. Find out about Branson's role in film, song and sports too!
 Lunch: Light lunch in the restaurant
 Afternoon: Workshop on Choreography: Choreography is the art of designing sequences of movements in which motion, form, or both are specified. Choreography may also refer to the design itself, which is sometimes expressed by means of dance notation. The word choreography literally means "dance-writing". A choreographer is one who creates choreography. Presenter: Lisa and Lezi Young, Branson Show Choreographer

Free Time from 3:30 to 5:30. Suggestions will be provided.
 Dinner: Dinner at the Plaza View - with an amazing view of the Branson strip!
 Evening: Private Performance Just for You: Enjoy an evening with the Michams in a private setting. Mike and Nancee Micham with take you on a musical performance that will guide the travels of music from Ireland to the Hills of the Ozarks. The Michams musical history includes the famous Back Porch Pickers and the touring Micham' show! A great time for laughing, learning, and listening!

Day 4: Workshops on Stage Magic, Improv, and Directing. Witness the amazing shows of Buckets & Boards and the Hamner Barber Variety show!

They are not afraid to take risks, and they take responsibility for the philosophical and political implications of their work. They have a deep respect for the artists with whom they work. Workshop on Stage Magic: Magic is a performing art that entertains an audience by creating illusions of seemingly impossible or supernatural feats, using purely natural means. These feats are called magic tricks, effects or illusions. One who performs such illusions is called a magician or an illusionist. The purpose of a magic trick is to amuse and create a feeling of wonderment; the audience is generally aware that the magic is performed using trickery, and derives enjoyment from the magician's skill and cunning Presented by David Hamner, Magician and Co-Star of the Hamner Barber Variety Show
 Lunch: Light lunch in the restaurant
 Afternoon: Attend the amazing Buckets and Boards show! Matt Levingston and Gareth Sever have handcrafted a hilarious and high-energy show chock-full of precise percussion, ridiculous songs, spectacular tap dancing, inventive instrumentation and unique musical talent. Buckets N Boards is an experience that has, and will, entertain the entire family! Their unexpected comedy and upbeat personalities will leave you laughing for the rest of your vacation! Come laugh till you cry with Buckets N Boards in 2014. See you there!
 Dinner: Buffet dinner at Hong Kong Buffet. Enough selections for those with specific diets.
 Evening: Attend Hamner/Barber Variety Show. Watch an amazing show from the incredible magical illusions of The Hamners and the hilarious comedy ventriloquism of Jim Barber to some of Branson's greatest musicians and singers. Magic shows are a favorite in Branson by providing great family entertainment and amazing illusions. The Hamner Barber Variety Show is not only one of the top rated shows in town, but it is also one of the most award-winning Branson magic shows!

Day 5: Attend an exciting Branson Show. Perform in the Branson Show Biz Kids variety show and enjoy an ice cream social!

 Morning: Lecture / Workshop on Advanced Theater Fundamentals: Honed techniques from a veteran star of the stage will be shared with the students. Focus will encompass developing your character through diction, thought, and personality. A focus on the role of the character as a intregal part of the whole play, Lecturer: Mark Young, Branson Stage Actor

 Afternoon: Workshop on Rhythm with the stars of Buckets and Boards - Matt Levingston and Gareth Sever! Learn how beats and rhythm play such a critical part in productions and music. Enjoy turning anything into your own drum set!

Everyone has rehearsal time in preparation for the big finale tomorrow in which everyone gets to participate!
 Dinner: A Dinner at the Plaza View
 Evening: Everyone participates in the Branson Show Biz Kids Variety Show! Bill Lennon will be our guest star judge for the evening of fun and performance! Bill is a member of the famous ‘Lennon Brothers’ swing group and Branson producer.

An ice cream social will follow the fun of the evening! Grab a root beer float and talk about the great performances.

Day 6: Discussion of the participant variety show and what producers look for in new talent. Overview of the week and say goodbyes to new friends!
