Join us as we explore the role of myths and symbols found in American civic, national, cultural, and religious life. We’ll examine core beliefs, practices and sacred traditions of three major religious groups in the United States as well as the power that myths and symbols hold over individuals and communities. Finally, we’ll discuss how art and music enhance or detract from of an individual or culture’s spiritual journey.

  Description: Located on the campus of the Center at Donaldson, Lindenwood is a conference and retreat center nestled on the shores of Lake Gilbrath. Lindenwood offers innovative programs for personal spiritual growth, faith enrichment and education and is also a conference center offering quiet meeting spaces for church groups, not-for-profit organizations and corporations.

  Room amenities: Each room has private bath with shower, individual climate controlled heating and air conditioning. Bed and bath linens, body/hair soap, provided. Fresh towels and sheets are available upon request. Wireless internet access available in all bedrooms.
  Facility amenities: One television is located on the ground and first floor lounges, with cable access and DVD capabilities. Free wireless internet access available in lounge and meeting spaces in conference center area. Common break room (Tulip Room) is located on the ground floor and has access to a coffee maker, microwave, soft drink vending machine, ice machine, refrigeration for snacks and medication. Vegetarian meals are available upon request. Security staff with EMT training available on grounds in cases of emergency. Limited number of handicap bedrooms available upon request..

Take US 30 westbound to Union Road (marked by Ancilla College, Donaldson, and Lindenwood Retreat and Conference Center directional signs) Go south on Union Road for 2 miles (you will go through 3 stop signs). 1/8 mile past the third stop sign is the main entrance on your right. Follow the entrance onto the campus. Park in Lot D located on your left. If using a GPS unit, program the address as: 9601 Union Road, Plymouth IN.
  From the North (South Bend, IN and Michigan) Lindenwood is located at The Center at Donaldson campus. Follow US 31 south to US 30 westbound. Continue on US 30 for 8 miles turning south onto Union Road (marked by Ancilla College, Donaldson, and Lindenwood Retreat and Conference Center directional signs) Go south on Union Road for 2 miles (you will go through 3 stop signs). 1/8 mile past the third stop sign is the main entrance on your right.  Evening: Orientation, "getting to know you" and time for fellowship.

Day 2: Presentations on Myth & Symbol and the Philosophy of the Religious Landscape/Evening visit to the Ancilla Domini Chapel
(Monday, June 23)
   
 Breakfast: Full breakfast at the conference center.
 Morning: Two presentations by two of the three presenters on Myth & Symbol and Philosophy of the Religious Landscape.
 Lunch: Large noon meal at the conference center. The noon meal is the main meal of the day. Some free time after noon meal.
 Afternoon: Two presentations by two of the three presenters on Myth & Symbol and Philosophy of the Religious Landscape.
 Dinner: Light supper at the conference center.
 Evening: Evening fun activity. Tour of Ancilla Domini Chapel.

 Afternoon: Participants have the afternoon free to go sight-seeing on their own of the surrounding area. Brochures will be available of the opportunities available.

Day 5: Presentations on Religion in America/Presentations on Myth & Symbol and the Philosophy of the Religious Landscape/Farewell Party

 Morning: Two presentations by two of the three presenters on Religion in America: Culture, Diversity and Tolerance.
 Lunch: Large noon meal at the conference center. The noon meal is the main meal of the day.
 Afternoon: Two presentations by two of the three presenters on Myth & Symbol and Philosophy of the Religous Landscape.
 Dinner: Light supper at the Conference Center.
 Evening: Evening party for Road Scholars with surprise live entertainment.
