Thrill to a winter wonderland as you improve your downhill skiing skills — or learn to ski — at the world-renowned Sunday River complex, featuring eight mountain peaks, 132 trails and a state-of-the-art snowmaking system. Expert coaches will instruct participants at all experience levels. In addition to skiing, each program includes an additional educational focus to stimulate your mind after the day’s exhilarating physical activity outdoors.

Folk Music with Maine Storytelling, History & Photography: Join Frank Gotwals, a commercial lobsterman and history buff for this week long program of folk music, Maine history and photography that Frank has capture through the years.

Digital Photography—Snap, Upload and Connect: From Architecture to outdoor vistas, the Bethel Inn Resort and the Bethel region offer the perfect backdrop for this week long program. During afternoon and evening seminars, learn everything about digital photography, from capturing a great photo, to uploading and sharing your images through social media platforms.

Folk Music with Maine Storytelling, History and Photography: Join Frank Gotwals, a commercial lobsterman and history buff for this week long program of folk music, Maine history and photography that Frank has captured through the years.

Movie Madness: Join Andy Wheeler, a local “movie buff” with a video/art degree from the University of Maine, for evening lectures as we view and discuss classic and new releases in our comfortable Gibson Room.



3-8-2015

Women’s Sampler: This week is for women only. Enjoy an array of resort and area activities including Yoga, a guided snowshoe/wildlife adventure, a hands-on healthy eating seminar, historical tours and evening of arts and crafts.

Driving Directions
  From Northern Maine I-95 South to Exit 157 at Newport ME, Route 2 West through Rumford, continue into Bethel, make a left at the Mallard Mart onto Parkway. At the stop sign make a right and continue straight to the next stop sign. Go left and the Bethel Inn is on the right.
  From the South Maine Turnpike I-95 North to Gray exit #63, take route 26N to Bethel. At the welcome to Bethel sign continue straight to stop sign at the top of Main Street. Take a left and the Bethel Inn is on the right. I-91 to St. Johnsbury VT, take Route 2 East to Bethel ME, at stop sign make a right onto Main Street and go straight to next stop sign. Make a left and the Bethel Inn is on the right.

Day 1: Dinner in the Main Dining Room/Orientation
(Sunday, February 23)
   
 Afternoon: Arrive and settle in.
 Dinner: Full dinner with choice of entrees with vegetables, homemade bread, soup or salad and homemade dessert.
 Evening: Meet the group and go over schedule for the week. Folk music will be run either in the afternoon or the evening each day, not both. To be determined closer to run date since is weather dependent for field trips.

Day 2: Hearty Breakfast in the Main Dining Room/Skiing and Ski Clinics at Sunday River/Lunch at the Inn/Folk Music and Resort Activities/Dinner in the Main Dining Room/Guest historians, group sessions and resort activites
(Monday, February 24)
   
 Breakfast: Enjoy a grand breakfast buffet including eggs, pancakes or french toast, breakfast meat, hot and cold cereal, juice, coffee and fruit. Served in the Main Dining Room.
 Morning: Enjoy a morning ski session at Sunday River Ski Resort. Learn and refine your skills in Perfect Turn clinics with expert instruction for skiers and riders of all abilities. Upgrade to all day tickets are available, Sunday River offers over 128 trails from 8 mountain peaks.
 Lunch: Full lunch at the Inn after morning ski session at Sunday River.
 Afternoon: Take a guided snowshoe tour with learn about the history of the Inn, wildlife and more. In addition, enjoy over 200 acres of resort activities at The Bethel Inn Resort from cross country skiing and snowshoeing, in-town walks or relaxing by one of the Inn's many fireplaces.
 Dinner: Hearty dinner with choice of entrees with vegetables, homemade bread, soup, salad and homemade dessert.
 Evening: After dinner, join local musicians and historians and discuss the impact Folk Music has had with live performances and story telling. Also enjoy resort amenities including our outdoor heated pool, whirlpool, saunas, fitness center and more.

 Lunch: Full lunch at the Inn after morning ski session at Sunday River.
 Afternoon: Spend the afternoon exploring the Bethel area, learning about Folk Music, local history and the roots of the music. In addition, enjoy over 200 acres of resort activities at The Bethel Inn Resort from cross country skiing and snowshoeing, in-town walks or relaxing by one of the Inn's many fireplaces.
