Capture the arrival of fall and the new character its brilliant colors bring to the North Woods as you learn the techniques of high-quality nature photography. Get to know your digital camera better than ever before, investigating its features and using them to produce great images on the spot, without the need for photo-editing software. Take part in critiquing sessions with other photographers in the comfort of the conference center and unwind from each day of field trips beside the fireplace or in the spacious lounge, recreation center and nature library.

Tomahawk
Set in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, Tomahawk is surrounded by forests and lakes. Fishing, boating and skiing are complemented by small-town activities. Harley Davidson attracts a crowd of 30,000 in September for an annual ride.

Doug Moore
Doug Moore has taught Road Scholar nature photography workshops since 1983. A former naturalist, he has degrees in natural resources and field biology from the University of Michigan and University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. He is currently a photographer and part-time faculty member at UWSP, and has published more than 800 photos. Doug has been teaching the Road Scholar photography workshops at Treehaven for 25 years, and is regarded for his in-depth knowledge and fine sense of humor.

Treehaven, an educational field station of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is located on a 1,400-acre forest reserve near Tomahawk, Wisconsin. Main lodge houses a spacious lounge, recreation equipment, computer lab w/internet, nature library, fireplace and the dining hall where home-cooked meals are served. Wildlife and wetlands await you in this very scenic area of northern Wisconsin.
