Enjoy Treehaven’s vibrant fall colors as you focus on the rich visual experience that its woods, fields and shorelines have to offer. Demonstrations and instruction in plein-air sketching, taking color notes, simple painting techniques, composition and use of light and shadow help you identify and appreciate the species native to the area. Through fields trips and an excursion to a local museum, study past nature artists, explore personal aesthetics and gain insight into your own growth as an artist.

Highlights

• Learn the elements of design and the principles of basic watercolor and drawing in a relaxed setting.
• Study composition, contrast, line, texture, form, rhythm, repetition, value and color under the direction of a noted artist/instructor and apply them to your own unique style.
• Take day trips to northern lakes, bogs, forests and waterfalls at Dells of the Eau Claire, as well as the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum’s annual Birds in Art exhibit.
