Delve into the why, when and how leaves turn color. Naturalist guides our in-depth look at Mother Nature's autumn mysteries. Insights into tree identification by color and location on the landscape and other autumn delights of the Ozark landscape.
Golden Age Of The Big Bands
Take a trip down memory lane to review the Big Bands from 1935-1945: Herman, Ellington, Miller, Shaw, and more. Look at their star players and arrangers. Listen to recordings that made them famous and videos featuring America's finest music.

The Eastern Ozarks are defined as much by its history and culture as by geology, geography and landscapes. Potosi is one of several rural communities in this region of clear streams, big springs and pastoral scenery. Gently rolling hills, deep valleys and plateaus are home to small farms and an abundance of wineries which dot the countryside.

Follow I-70 West to I-270 South. I-270 South to State Hwy 21 South. Follow 21 South to the town of Potosi. Turn right onto State Hwy 8. Follow 8 through town and turn right onto State Hwy AA. Main entrance to YMCA of the Ozarks is about 2 miles on the right.

Field trip to St. James Winery and Peaceful Bend Winery. Trip will compare and contrast the largest winery in Missouri with one of the smallest. Behind the scenes tours of both places (may be changed based on production or OSHA schedules), and time in the tasting rooms and gift shops.

Hot buffet dinner with salad bar. Menu varies.
Evening:
Astronomy and star gazing.

1 -75 minute classroom session. Fall collages at arts and crafts with all natural materials. Free time to use Trout Lodge facilities.
Dinner:

Ice Cream Social. Ice cream with all the fixings. Also time for passport stickers, group photos and one last fun activity.

3 - 45 minute classroom sessions. Classes will finish by 11:00 AM.
Lunch:
Hot buffet lunch with salad bar. Menu varies. A boxed lunch is available for an additional fee for those that wish to leave as soon as class is over.
Afternoon:
Free time available to use YMCA Trout Lodge after check out for all participants. Do some of the activities that you wanted to do and didn't get the chance to do like horseback riding or climbing towers.
