Kenneth Hinde
Kenneth Hinde received his B.A. degree in history from Ursinus College. He was employed by the Bucks County Historical Society for fifteen years as associate curator of the Mercer Museum, then as the first site administrator of the Fonthill Museum. He then served as tour director for the Foundation for Architecture in Philadelphia where he was responsible for developing an extensive program of architecture walking tours, geared to the general public. Kenneth is the former director of special programs for Landmarks Road Scholar.

  Description: Club Quarters is a private hotel available to members only. It is housed in an architecturally significant building constructed in the 1920's in the then-popular Georgian Revival style, for Provident National Bank. Our meals are in Davios restaurant (one of Philadelphia's finest). This stylish, upscale restaurant offers a variety of Northern Italian specialties. Philadelphia Magazine "Best of Philly" Award 2000, 2004, 2005. Wine Spectator Magazine "Award of Excellence" 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006. The hotel is ideally located in the Rittenhouse Square District and close to, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, and centered around world-class dining restaurants and shopping, and all the unique historical sites that make Philadelphia a national treasure. With easy access to I-95, Philadelphia International Airport is only 20 minutes from our hotel.

  Room amenities: Speaker phone, voice mail, cable television, data port with high speed internet access, hair dryer, tea/coffee maker, iron. refrigerator in room must be requested through customer service. Washer and dryer machines are availabel for use on the 12th floor of the hotel. Handicap rooms are available, however they only have a queen bed. No cots are allowed in the room due to size and insurance. Two rooms can be requested adjacent to each other if separate beds are required.
  Facility amenities: Instant check-in/fast check-out, 24-hour member services desk, fitness facility, and delivery of exercise equipment to room available at extra charge, restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, washer and dryer available.

Three members of the same sex would then have three different beds to sleep on. Customer service would need to contact the Provider to make these arrangements.

Day 1: Registration/Orientation/Dinner/Curtis Institute of Music Student Recital
(Friday, November 1)

Note: 3 block walk to/from Curtis Mansion
   
 Afternoon: Registration at 4:00 PM, followed by orientation.
 Dinner: Hotel dining room.
 Evening: This evening we will attend a student music recital at the Curtis Mansion on Rittenhouse Square. 3 Blocks from the hotel.

Day 2: Lecture on Philadelphia history or art. Field trip to the National Constitution Center/Rodin Museum/Philadelphia Museum of Art/Theater Performance
(Saturday, November 2)

Note: Limited walking at Nat. Constitution Ctr. and Rodin Museum. Lots of walking at Art Museum (pace it to your own stamina). Wheelchairs are available.
   
 Breakfast: at hotel.
 Morning: Early Philadelphia History lecture followed by field trip to the National Constitution Center which opened in 2003 and is the leading center on The Constitution, the Bill of rights and the amendments.
 Lunch: Lunch out
 Afternoon: We will visit Rodin Museum, which houses the largest collection of Rodin sculptures outside of Paris. Then we will explore the galleries at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
 Dinner: Dinner at Davios Restaurant
 Evening: This evening we will attend a theater performance.

Day 3: Liberty Bell/Independence Hall/Barnes on the Parkway/Evening Lecture TBA
(Sunday, November 3)

Note: 2 blocks of walking around Independence Hall & Liberty Bell. Barnes Foundation limited walking: 12 galleries to view (benches in every gallery). Wheelchairs are available.
   
 Breakfast: Hotel dining room.
 Morning: After breakfast we leave for America's most historic mile to l visit Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. The old cracked Bell still proclaims liberty and Independence Hall echoes the words, "We the People." Explore Franklin's Philadelphia and learn about the past and America's continuing struggle to fulfill the Founders' declaration that "all men are created equal."
 Lunch: lunch out
 Afternoon: Our afternoon is a delight with entry to The Barnes on the Parkway. Between 1912 and 1951, Albert C. Barnes assembled one of the finest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modern paintings in the world. Acquiring works by some of the most daring artists of the time Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Chaim Soutine, and Vincent van Gogh, among others?Barnes marked himself as a collector of great ambition and audacity.
 Dinner: At hotel or at a popular restaurant.
