Alongside registered Maine guides go kayaking in wide, stable, tandem kayaks on the ocean among picturesque uninhabited islands and hiking along astounding coastal trails with views of the Canadian Maritimes. Then learn about the largest mammals in the world, whale watching aboard an historic sailing schooner. Explore a famous candy-striped lighthouse at the eastern edge of the continental U.S., join a naturalist-led hike in a bog, and, of course, enjoy a lobster feast.
Highlights
• Paddle in pristine waters on the edge of Passamaquoddy Bay within the Bay of Fundy. • Small kayaking and hiking groups create intimate camaraderie and allow for plenty of time with your instructors. • Explore FDR's summer cottage on Campobello Island and lighthouses, and go whale watching board the schooner “Ida C. Lore.”

| Road Scholar Instructors | | These instructors are participating on at least one date of this program. Please note that changes may occur. | Stephanie Allard
| | Stephanie’s training as a naturalist began as a child roaming the woods and beaches of Cape Cod. At age 7 she was given her first insect field guide and aspired to be an entomologist. Her love of the outdoors led her to Maine, where she worked as a registered Maine whitewater guide and photographer while perusing a degree in biology. After graduating, Stephanie taught biology, chemistry and marine resources. She lives in Perry with her husband and beautiful daughters. And she still loves bugs!
