Sonoma
Northern California’s Sonoma Valley is synonymous with wine, as it should be — the state’s wine industry was born here and today a rolling patchwork of vineyards grows grapes from Cabernet Sauvignon to Zinfandel. But the city of Sonoma offers even more: a historic Western town built around the northernmost of the California Franciscan missions.
