Days 1-2: Independent arrival New York City, N.Y.:

Board a boat at the southern tip of Manhattan Island and enjoy fantastic views of the skyline as you sail toward Liberty Island for an up-close view of the Statue of Liberty. Continue to Ellis Island, the gateway through which millions of immigrants first entered the United States. Enjoy a free afternoon to experience New York City independently. Lodging: Comfortable hotel.



Day 3: New York City / embark Norwegian Breakaway

Go behind the scenes on an expert-led field trip to the historic Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, home of the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet and the Juilliard School. Board the ship to begin your voyage this afternoon.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Independent arrivals to hotel. Join your group leader for dinner and orientation.
(Friday, October 11)
   
 Arrive To: New York City
 Afternoon: Independent check-in at hotel.
 Dinner: Meet your Group Leader Steve in the hotel lobby at 5:30PM, then walk to dinner at Trinity Place, located just a few blocks from the hotel.
 Evening: Welcome dinner then evening to settle in or explore.

Day 2: Scenic boat cruise of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island / Visit to Liberty Island
(Saturday, October 12)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at Bill's Bar and Burger, located in hotel. Breakfast starts at 7am and ends at 9am. Please dine at your leisure with your voucher but be ready to depart for our morning excursion at 9:30.
 Morning: After breakfast we make our way to Battery Park to board a 10:00am ferry to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. Ferry ride is approximately 25 minutes. Audio tours will be used once we get to Liberty Island. If you wish you may also visit inside the Statue pedestal and the museum. Note, please be aware that security on Liberty Island is very tight and there will be at least one check point that you must pass through. Once we finish exploring we'll return by ferry back to Battery Park. Ellis Island will be visible on the left. Hurricane Sandy left Ellis Island largely submerged and damaged. The National Park Service was able to reopen Liberty Island this past July, however they are still working to make Ellis Island accessible again.
 Lunch: Lunch at Blue Planet Grill. Choice of appetizers, entree and dessert.
 Afternoon: Afternoon on your own to relax or explore New York on your own. Our hotel is conveniently located downtown close to many attractions including the 9/11 Memorial.
 Dinner: Dinner on your own to explore the cuisine of your choice in New York City.

Day 3: Lincoln Center Tour / Embarkation
(Sunday, October 13)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at Bill's Bar and Burger, located in hotel. Breakfast starts at 7am and ends at 9am. Please dine at your leisure with your voucher but be ready to depart for our morning excursion at 9:30.
 Morning: After breakfast we'll make our way to Lincoln Center to learn more about the Center's iconic landmarks—including the Revson Fountain, the newly transformed Alice Tully Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera House. The behind-the-scenes tour is approximately 75 minutes.
 Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Group transfer to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal to embark and begin regular program.
