Encounter the rich and sweeping picture of the past emblazoned on the archaeological ruins at Mesa Verde National Park, the hiking trails of the craggy San Juan mountains and the streets of Victorian mining and ranching towns.
Highlights
• Led by Park Service Rangers and a Ute tribal representative, hike in Mesa Verde National Park and the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Park, where you find yourself surrounded by pictographs, petroglyphs and other artifacts dating back more than 1,000 years.
• Relive Colorado’s days of gold and silver mining by riding the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, a National Historic Landmark.
• Venture above the tree line during a hike on the Molas Lake section of the Colorado Trail.

Hiking up to eight miles over moderate terrain, some hills, well-groomed, established trails. Climbing ladders in Mesa Verde and Ute Mountain Tribal Park; no alternative access available. Elevations of 5,000-10,500 feet.
