Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 15 years of age.

Float, crawl, ride, climb and get up close to salamanders, turtles, crawdads, bats and other native wildlife. From ropes courses to canoeing down the Hiwassee to crawling underground into a cave, this exciting program offers exercise, adventure and old-fashioned fun in the mud.




Highlights

• Spend a morning hanging around, solving problems and working as a team on the low ropes course, then graduate to the high ropes course to zoom along the zip line and show your guts on the pamper pole.
• On the canoe adventure, watch for turtles, fish, birds and other wildlife and head back to Cohutta for a night of campfire tales and tent camping.
• Go ahead and get some red-clay mud on you when you descend into a muddy cave to explore the wild underground.

You must contact Groome Shuttle for transportation from the airport to Dalton where the Cohutta Springs shuttle will pick you up at no extra charge. If you are flying into the Chattanooga Airport you must make a reservation with Groome Shuttle and let them know you need a pick up in Chattanooga otherwise they don't stop there. If you are flying into the Atlanta Airport, Groome Shuttle runs every hour but it is still recommended to have a reservation.

  From North (Chattanooga) Follow I-75 South to US Hwy 411, Exit 293. Follow Us Hwy 411 North through Chatsworth, Eton and Crandall. Look for Cohutta Springs Road approximately 4 miles north of Eton. Turn right. Follow Cohutta Springs Road, crossing railroad tracks, until you come to Cohutta Springs entrance on the left.
  From South (Atlanta) Follow I-75 North to US Hwy 411, Exit 293. Turn Right. Follow Us Hwy 411 North through Chatsworth, Eton and Crandall. Day 1: Check-in at 4:00 pm / Supper 6:00 pm /Get Acquainted 7:00 pm
(Sunday, July 14)
   
 Afternoon: Registration and Check-in will begin at 4PM. You will be greeted by our staff and given your program materials.
 Dinner: A buffet style dinner will be served in our Peach Dining Room at 6:00 p.m.
 Evening: At 7:00 p.m. we will have a time to get acquainted with staff and other guests for the week.
 Evening: After the welcome you are encouraged to relax before starting your week of fun.

Day 2: Think Outside the Box in the Challenge Course/Ride the Zipline
(Monday, July 15)
   
 Breakfast: A buffet style breakfast will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Morning: After breakfast, you will take the short hike back to the Low Ropes Course located just off the beaten path. The morning will be spent on the ropes challenge course developing thinking skills and getting to know your grandchild and yourself better. Building relationships and team work as well as being able to think outside the box are skills that are used to solve the elements for this course. You will need tennis shoes or sturdy shoes for this activity.
 Lunch: A buffet style lunch will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Afternoon: After lunch, you will load the bus for the snorkel hole where the water is really cold and you can get up close and personal with the fish that are unique to this area and even one species you don't find many other places. It's lots of fun.
 Dinner: A buffet style dinner will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Evening: After dinner everyone gets to take a ride on the 1,100 ft. Zipline that soars across the lake. However, you need to bring you bug spray along for this adventure.

Day 3: Let's Get Paddling!/River Trip/Cookout/Overnight Campout
(Tuesday, July 16)
   
 Breakfast: A buffet style breakfast will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Morning: After breakfast, you will meet on the water's edge for canoe instruction before leaving for your canoe trip. We will cover the basics of turning, stopping, river safety and of course paddling. This will prepare you for your journey ahead as we get ready for our river adventure. Clothing that can get wet and water shoes are needed for this activity. No flip flops please, they don't stay on too well in moving waters).
 Lunch: A buffet style lunch will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Afternoon: This afternoon we will be canoeing on a local river. Who knows what kind of wildlife you might see? Keep your eyes open for turtles and fish in the water and birds and wildlife along the shore. This trip lasts on average from 3-4 hours from put in to take out, depending on water flow and the speed of paddlers. You will need sunscreen, sunglasses, and maybe a hat.
 Dinner: When you return from canoeing, there will be a short time to clean up and rest before the cookout at the picnic pavilion.
 Evening: After dinner you will be tent camping overnight in our RV Park. There is a bath house with showers and hot water. We provide the tents and sleeping bags and even pillows. After dark you can sit around the campfire or enjoy some stargazing. There might even be some s'mores.

Day 4: Rise and Shine/Water Activities on the Lake all day.
(Wednesday, July 17)

Note: We request that everyone wears a modest swim suit or you may be asked to cover up.



   
 Breakfast: After awakening to the call of birds instead of alarm clocks, get ready for the day in the bath house and then it's time for breakfast which will be prepared and served by the campfire.
 Morning: After breakfast you'll hang around Cohutta for the day enjoying a variety of water activities on the lake.
 Lunch: A buffet style lunch will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Afternoon: Finish water activities on the lake. We have the water slide, the blob, the torpedo and the tube. We're sure you will want to try everything.
 Dinner: A buffet style dinner will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Evening: After dinner it's time for a pool party with the slippery watermelon.

Day 5: Rappelling / Caving
(Thursday, July 18)

Note: Be prepared, your clothes and shoes will get dirty today.



   
 Breakfast: A buffet style breakfast will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Morning: Get out your clothes for getting down and dirty. But first experience the thrill of rappelling. Helmets and gear are provided for you. You will need to wear sturdy shoes.
 Lunch: It's box lunches today.
 Afternoon: Now, it's time for getting dirty exploring the insides of a cave. All of the necessary gear is provided. Just make sure you have clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.
 Dinner: A buffet style dinner will be served in our Peach Dining Room.
 Evening: The activity tonight will depend on the energy level of the group.

Day 6: Breakfast / Farewell and Graduation

 Breakfast: Buffet style breakfast will be served in the Peach Dining Room.
