Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 15 years of age.
Float, crawl, ride, climb and get up close to salamanders, turtles, crawdads, bats and other native wildlife. From ropes courses to canoeing down the Hiwassee to crawling underground into a cave, this exciting program offers exercise, adventure and old-fashioned fun in the mud.
Highlights
• Spend a morning hanging around, solving problems and working as a team on the low ropes course, then graduate to the high ropes course to zoom along the zip line and show your guts on the pamper pole. • On the canoe adventure, watch for turtles, fish, birds and other wildlife and head back to Cohutta for a night of campfire tales and tent camping. • Go ahead and get some red-clay mud on you when you descend into a muddy cave to explore the wild underground.
Activity Particulars
One night camping on river banks; canoeing three hours, caving two hours in 80- to 90-degree weather.
Coordinated by Cohutta Springs Conference Center.
