Immerse yourself in the 40th-annual Sacramento Music Fest, where over a hundred musicians perform amid historic Old Sacramento. Discover the origins and evolutions of this unique American art form and learn how to listen and appreciate it guided by experts. Day 2: Jazz Presentations Prepare Us for the Jubilee; Where did the Kazoo come from anyway?
(Thursday, May 23)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel
 Morning: Today we'll begin our preparations for the upcoming musical festivities! Several presentations have been created exclusively for our group to prepare us thoroughly for a great Jazz learning experience. We'll begin with Jazz Vocalists of the 20's and 30's. We will be introduced to our instructors who will provide a musical introduction to Jazz.
 Lunch: At the hotel
 Afternoon: Our teaching group will present a Tribute to Walter Donaldson followed by the History of the Kazoo. Ever wanted to try Kazooing? Then take some free time to relax and visit with your fellow travellers. The hotel will offer a no host happy hour prior to dinner.

Day 3: A Tribute to Vaudeville and Jubilee Cabarets Open!
(Friday, May 24)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel
 Morning: We'll begin by reviewing the daily festival performance schedule, offering recommendations, discussing highlights and the various types of performances available, and giving explanation of the shuttle bus system within the festival site and logistics of getting to and around the festival.

Our teaching staff will provide a Tribute to Vaudeville Music.

 Lunch: A buffet lunch will be served at the hotel.
 Afternoon: Shuttles will take you from the hotel to the festival site. Performance sites open at 1:30PM, and you'll have decisions to make as to which ones to attend! The afternoon holds many options for you! Catch a festival shuttle back to the hotel when you are ready.
 Dinner: Back at your hotel, the hotel will provide a no host happy hour followed by a buffet dinner.
 Evening: Discussion of today’s performance highlights, with a Q&A session with our Jazz Experts. Then relax and enjoy this evening’s entertainment.

Day 4: Private Jazz Lecture and Performance; Jubilee Parade; Jubilee Cabarets of Choice.
(Saturday, May 25)
   
 Breakfast: Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: One of our jazz instructors will discuss Ragtime Revival Pianists and their style. Following this presentation catch the festival shuttles to the Old Sacramento streets to enjoy the Jubilee Parade.
 Lunch: Make your choices with your Festival Bucks from the approved food vendors list.
 Afternoon: Use your special pass to head off to the Musician's Hospitality Room. Be sure to check the opening times! With your special permit, you can mingle and chat with "off-duty" musicians and find out how they create their special magic, or just mingle and chat. Listen to the tales, then take in other Festival Cabarets of your choice.
 Dinner: Join your fellow Road Scholars at the no host happy hour followed by a buffet dinner at the hotel.
 Evening: After dinner discussion of today’s performance highlights, and another Q&A session. Then relax and enjoy this evening’s entertainment.

Day 5: Private Lecture and Performance; Choice of Cabarets
(Sunday, May 26)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at hotel.
 Morning: Presentation and Lecture on Tribute to Frank Loesser. Catch the festival shuttles fo enjoy the Jubilee Cabarets of your choice.
 Lunch: Use your festival bucks to pick a food choice.
 Afternoon: Check out those special Cabarets you’ve been hearing about from your fellow group members! Tough choices to make! Return via the festival shuttles on your own schedule.
 Dinner: A no host happy hour at the hotel is followed by a buffet dinner in our meeting space.
 Evening: Questions are welcomed by our Jazz Experts – and after today’s performances, you probably have a number of them! Discuss today’s highlights, then relax and enjoy this evening’s entertainment.

Day 6: Private Jazz Presentation; Jubilee Cabarets; Closing Event
(Monday, May 27)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast buffet at the hotel.
 Morning: Lecture on "Big Money In Jazz." The business of Jazz as seen from the perspective of professional musicians. Discussion involves highlights and career challenges of long time performers, as well as the "how-to" in supporting a successful show-biz career. Then off to the Festival again for those final must see performances.
 Lunch: Use your Jubifestival bucks for the last time to enjoy some Festival food!
 Afternoon: Check out those special Festival Cabarets you may have missed! Don’t forget the final ‘wind-down party’ at the last set!
 Dinner: Join your fellow Jubilee Road Scholars at the no host happy hour at the hotel and then take another chance to chat with your fellow group members over dinner to compare notes, and plan for next year’s festivities!
 Evening: After dinner discussion by our Group Leaders and Staff, and program-closing events – your “graduation”!

  Sutter's Fort State Historic Park
John Sutter established this outpost in 1839, and the park, restored to its 1846 appearance, aims to recapture the spirit of 19th-century California. Exhibits include a blacksmith's forge, cooperage, bakery, and jail — a self-guided audio tour is also available. Demonstrations and reenactments in costume are staged daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
