Escape everyday life at Amish Acres, a historic farm and heritage resort that preserves a way of life nearly forgotten in today’s fast-paced world. Discover the culture and history of the Amish and Mennonite people firsthand. Walk the oaken floorboards of the 138-year-old Amish homestead, take a leisurely wagon ride around the farm’s 80 acres. Learn the whys and ways of the Amish as your leader winds you through the twelve-room white frame house, the Grossdaadi Haus, the Schwietzer bank barn and inviting outbuildings.

Nappanee

Nappanee is the center of one of the largest Amish settlements in the United States. Built on the rich heritage of the woodworking industry, the railroad and Amish culture, the city houses nearly 2,500 Old Order Amish who live, work and interact with residents and visitors.

  Chicago, Illinois Indiana Toll Road (I-80/90) east to exit 72, south on U.S. 31 (U.S. 20 Bypass) disregard the U.S. 20 east/west exit and proceed approximately 20 miles on bypass to Nappanee exit (S.R. 19). Take S.R. 19 south the U.S. 6, west 1 mile to Amish Acres. (Approximately 2 hours)

Day 1: Registration/Thresher's Dinner

 Afternoon: Hotel Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. Meet your Road Scholar Director, receive itinerary and details, and meet other participants beginning at 4:00 pm with a welcome reception.
 Dinner: Enjoy the Amish Acres Threshers Dinner served family style. All you care to eat, so don't be timid - ask for more!
 Evening: Enjoy a question and answer session with owner and CEO of Amish Acres.
 Evening: Settle into your hotel room and enjoy a relaxing evening with free time to explore the farm or surrounding countryside.

Day 2: Heritage Adventure/Amish Culture/Theatrical Production
(Tuesday, October 15)
   
 Breakfast: Enjoy an expanded continental breakfast in The Geranium Room at The Inn at Amish Acres.
 Morning: Explore the 80 acre farm and experience the lifestyle of the Amish through guided tours of the house & farm, farm wagon ride tour and two documentary films, Genesis and Exodus of the Amish
 Lunch: Delicious lunch at the Amish Acres Restaurant.
 Afternoon: Stimulating lecture on Amish Culture with question and answer session.
 Dinner: Delicious dinner prepared by our Amish cooks

Day 3: Visit an Amish School/Amish Adventure

 Morning: Always a highlight! Visit traditional one-room schoolhouse where Amish children still attend school today. Visit an Amish Dairy Farm and Cider Mill to learn about daily life on an Amish Farm.

 Afternoon: Learn about the Amish Heritage Experience
 Dinner: Delectable Dinner
 Evening: Enjoy a performance in the majestic 1911 Round Barn Theatre.
