Create artwork from metal that can weather the seasons and grace your garden and home for years to come. Trellises, plant stands, weather vanes, gates, tables, and sculptures fabricated with a range of metals and techniques-the possibilities are endless. Learn the basics of welding, cutting and bending of steel, using rods, sheet and found objects. No previous experience is necessary.

In 1874, a burst reservoir flooded the mill town of Williamsburg and drove away much of its industry and labor force. Out of the devastation rose the Greek revival architecture seen today on the main avenues of the modern town, a popular base for the limitless outdoor, crafts and cultural opportunities of the Berkshires and the Five College area.

Architecturally designed dormitories; modest double-occupancy bedrooms share central bathroom unit with same gender (one dormitory is mixed gender with two gender-specific bathrooms). Studios in both original and new buildings. Hilly lawns, unpaved pathways.

Description:
Located in a beautiful pastoral setting surrounded by fields and woodland, the facility is a blend of historic 200-year-old farm buildings and contemporary living and dining accommodations. Our studios are housed in both old and new buildings. Snow Farm is a special place where students can come for solace and rejuvenation while learning a craft from master craftspeople.

Welcome and orientation, followed by artist/instructors presentations.

Day 2:
Formal instruction from 9 am - noon, and from 2 pm - 4:30 pm. After dinner, enjoy a tour of all the studios with a brief explanation of what students are learning in a particular studio. There is also open studio time for students throughout the evening.

The studio tour involves walking short distances and standing for 30- 45 minutes.

Formal instruction from 9 am - noon, then lunch. The afternoon and evening is unscheduled time. Students may take advantage of open studio time or take the opportunity to explore the local area, rich with museums, outdoor activities and great restaurants.
