Enjoy front, center seats at each performance of the Tony Award-winning, Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. It is widely recognized as one of the best professional theater events in the nation and includes a theater replica of London’s Globe. Attend a performance at Tuacahn Amphitheater, St. George, known as "Broadway in the desert!" Surrounded by stunning 1,500' high red rock sandstone walls, it is renowned for being one of the most spectacular outdoor theaters in existence. Attend three Shakespeare performances and three contemporary productions and seminars, classes, backstage tours, play orientations, festive “Greenshows” with Elizabethan music/dance, literary seminars, and costume/props production seminars. Take in southern Utah scenery of Kolob, the west part of Zion National Park. The largest city in south-central Utah is at the center of the region's arches, mesas, pinnacles and buttes, in close proximity to Zion, Bryce, and Grand Canyon national parks, as well as Lake Powell and prehistoric archaeological sites.

  Description: The College Inn is located in the heart of the historic district in St. George, six blocks from Dixie State University's campus. The historic district offers restored pioneer homes and buildings. This facility is used specifically for Road Scholar and other educational groups it is not used as housing for college students. St. George has beautiful red rock cliff and lava rock mesa as back drop with larger mountains and rock formations that can be seen in the distance. A lounge area with couches, DirecTV, a refrigerator, soda pop machine, guest laundry and microwave are available for your use. We also have a beautiful heated pool and hot tub for your enjoyment. The rooms do not have phones or televisions, but a public phone is available at the front desk.

Driving Directions
  Las Vegas From Las Vegas travel north on I-15 approximately 120 miles (two hours) to St. George, Utah. Take the St. George exit number 6, Bluff Street. At the exit stop light turn left and travel northwest on Bluff Street for about 2 miles to 100 South Street, turn right. The College Inn is 123 East 100 South. Enter the parking lot on the east side of the building.
  Salt Lake City Travel South on I-15 about 300 miles to St. George. Exit at St. George Blvd. exit number 8. Turn right onto St. George Blvd. Travel west 9 blocks to 200 East Street. Turn left and travel two blocks. At 100 South turn right. Travel 1/2 block to College Inn. The address is 123 East 100 South. Enter the parking lot on the east side of the building.
Elevation Note: Zion National Park-Kolob is the highest elevation at about 5,500 feet.

Equipment Requirements: Optional, bring your swimming suit for swimming during free time.

Day 1: Welcome and Introductions/Orientation and introductory theater class.

 Arrive To: 3:00 pm MST Arrive at the College Inn for check in. The College Inn is located at 123 East 100 South in St. George, Utah. It is about 6 blocks from the Dixie State College Campus.
 Afternoon: Welcome and introductions in the College Inn Meeting Room
 Dinner: Dinner
 Evening: Following dinner have a brief orientation about daily activities and the itnerary. Introductory theater class in the College Inn Meeting Room.

Day 2: Theater Class, Visit Zion National Park's Kolob Canyon and attend the Shakespearean play of "The Tempest".

 Breakfast: Breakfast
 Morning: Theater Class in the College Inn meeting room. Check out and travel to Cedar City. En route visit Zion National Park's Kolob Canyon.
 Lunch: Lunch
 Afternoon: Arrive and check into hotel. Enjoy a litte free time to explore Cedar City's main street.
 Dinner: Dinner
 Evening: 7:00 - Play Orientation and Green Show 8:00 - "The Tempest" in the Adams Theater, replica of London's original Globe.

 Morning: 9:00 Free time or go to Literary Seminar, in the seminar grove to participate in a lively give and take about last nights performance. 10:15 Enjoy a Back Stage Tour of the Shakespearean Festival. See and learn about theatre sets, costumes, and lighting and the designers and technicians who bring it all to life. The experts are there to answer your questions and show you just how it's done.
 Lunch: Lunch
 Afternoon: 1:00 Attend Play Orientation 2:00 Attend a performance of "Anything Goes" in Randall Jones Theater.
 Dinner: Dinner
 Evening: 7:00 - Play Orientation and Green Show 8:00 - Attend "Love's Labour Lost" in the Adams Theater

Day 4: Festival Seminars / Afternoon performance of "Peter and the Starcatcher" / Play Orientation and Green Show followed by the performance of "King John"

 Morning: Optional: 8:50 Depart 9:00 Free time or go to Literary Seminar, in the seminar grove. This provides a lively discussion about last nights performance. Several actors and directors are generally present to participate in the give and take. 11:00 Optional Production Seminar about Elizabethean Music in Auditorium. This is a fascinating presentation about music and provides opportunity to view/hear a variety of instruments.
 Lunch: Lunch at restaurant
 Afternoon: 1:00 Attend Play Orientation 2:00 Attend a performance of "Peter and the Starcatcher" in the Randall Jones Theater.
 Dinner: Dinner at restaurant
 Evening: 7:00 - Play Orientation and Green Show 8:00 - Attend "King John" in the Adams Theater.

 Afternoon: Program ends after lunch in St. George, Utah NOTE: Those taking the St. George Shuttle back to Las Vegas can catch the 2:00 or 4:00 PM shuttle which arrives Vegas at 3:00 or 5:00 PM.
