On the slopes, skiing experts discuss avalanche awareness, winter weather in the Rockies and share tips to improve your skiing technique.
Highlights
• Ski with similar-ability small groups through the amazing groomed and powder runs.
• Local experts guide groups around the mountain, maximizing the ski experience and giving tips to enhance your skills.
• Study the area’s geology and natural history, and experience Crested Butte’s charming downtown — one of Colorado’s largest National Historic Districts.

For intermediate skiers. Elevations of 8,000-12,000 feet.
Coordinated by Mountains and Plains Institute.
Crested Butte
Born during the Colorado silver mining boom, Crested Butte survived the end of the silver rush thanks to its ranching and supply industries, unlike many similar municipalities destined to become ghost towns. Today it combines the history of buildings from its Wild West days with the thrill of a spectacular modern ski resort on its snowy peaks.
Accommodations
Cozy in-town B&B with free shuttle to ski area.
