One of the oldest ski-friendly regions in Colorado, Winter Park and Mary Jane offer a skier’s dream come true. Enjoy the 369 inches of consistent, annual “Champagne Powder” snow. Discover the joys of five mountains, 134 trails, 22 lifts on 2,886 acres and verticality of 3,676 feet of wintry bliss. Top guides lead small groups to the best runs while offering their expert pointers on fine-tuning your technique.

Winter Park (Colorado)

Winter Park receives the most snow of Colorado's destination ski resorts and is also the closest to Denver; its five distinct mountains are 90 minutes away in a high mountain valley. The region is rich in heritage, ranging from the Ute Indians and pioneers to ranching, railroads and the state's oldest continually operating ski resort.

For those of you that will be flying, Denver International Airport (DEN) in Denver, Colorado will be your destination. You can contact Home James Transportation Service at 800-359-7503 or www.homejamestransportation.com to make reservations for shuttle service from Denver to Winter Park. Please have the shuttle service drop you at the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge.

 
Driving Directions
  Denver To get to Winter Park Resort from all points around the Denver area, find your way to I-70 heading West out of Denver. Follow I-70 West approximately 40 miles to Exit 232 to Winter Park, Empire and Granby. Follow Exit 232 onto Hwy 40 which will take you over Berthoud Pass (great photo ops) and to Winter Park. Mileage from Exit 232 to Winter Park is approximately 24 miles. Total mileage from Denver is 67 miles.
Elevation Note: 12,600 feet is the highest elevation at the ski area. Ski area information at www.skiwinterpark.com

Equipment Requirements: Skis, boots, poles, clothing, etc. Helmets strongly recommended. Rentals available.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Hotel Check-in/Orientation
(Monday, February 18)

Note: The town of Winter Park is a convenient base for the ski areas of Winter Park and Mary Jane. The town and ski areas are connected by a frequent free shuttle bus right across the street from the hotel.



   
 Arrive To: Hotel check-in is between 4 - 5 PM. Meet in the hotel lobby at 5 pm for orientation and information.
 Dinner: Restaurant or catered meal
 Evening: Orientation.

Day 2: Skiing - lift ticket provided
(Tuesday, February 19)

Note: The Winter Park Ski Resort consists of three interconnected mountain peaks — Winter Park, Mary Jane, and Vasquez Ridge — which share a common lift ticket. Mary Jane is known for its moguls, tree skiing, and generally more difficult terrain. It encompasses the above-tree line terrain of Parsenn Bowl. Vasquez Ridge offers intermediate terrain and mogul runs. 435 acres of backcountry terrain in Vasquez Cirque with a triple chairlift providing lift access to much of that terrain.

 Breakfast: Continental breakfast with choice of hot items

 Afternoon: Skiing, during each day opportunities will exist for some coaching and group guided skiing.
 Dinner: Restaurant meal
 Evening: Expert led discussion on ski equipment design and latest technology.

Day 5: Skiing - lift ticket provided
