In 1932, the world was shocked to learn that the baby of aviation hero Charles Lindbergh had been kidnapped and killed. Examine the clues of the case and many of the theories that have been raised about this “crime of the century” and Mr. Hauptmann.



Decisive Battles of the American Civil War

Revisit the battles of Bull Run, Shiloh, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Atlanta and Nashville, which led to the surrender of the Confederate Army. Evaluate strategies, battlefield tactics and prominent generals and their commands.



The History of Jewish People From Adam to Dayan

Reconstructed from historical records, study information from biblical days, the Jewish role in medieval times, the building of the American dream, and creation of modern Israel. Discuss Jewish influences on Western culture while dispelling myths.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Registration, ice breaker, meeting new people, and getting ready for a week of wonderful programs.
(Sunday, March 3)
   
 Afternoon: Welcome to Stetson University... Home of the "Hatters" Check in at hotel is at 3:00 p.m. Road Scholar Registration - 4:00 p.m. (Check with the front desk of the hotel for location. They will have a Sunday schedule.) The DeLand campus, just 25 miles from Daytona Beach and 35 miles from Orlando, is home to the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Business Administration, School of Music, and many others. The College of Law is located in St. Petersburg/Gulfport, the Tampa Law Center is in downtown Tampa and the Stetson University Center at Celebration is in the Orlando area. Stetson University was founded in 1883. Our 175-acre DeLand campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and our turn-of-the-century buildings have been modernized and updated without losing their charm.  Dinner: We will have a catered meal where the professors for the week are invited to stop in and have dinner with you and say a few words. It's a time to mingle and get to know everyone that you will be with for the following week This is a catered event... (if you have any dietary needs, please let us know on your health forms.)
 Evening: Orientation will be held at approximately 7:00 pm. We will go over the contents of the program folder and schedule for the week. The Professors (if they are available) will speak for a few minutes and get everyone affiliated with the week's programs. The rest of the evening is yours to get settled, relax, and get you ready for a week of wonderful programming.

 Breakfast: Have breakfast in the University dining commons with members of the Stetson student community.
 Morning: Two morning classes.

 Afternoon: Afternoon class.
 Dinner: Dining commons. With several different stations, you can choose from a variety of entrees and side dishes.
 Evening: Extracurricular enrichment with either a University lecture or entertainment by local performers.
