Refresh your canoeing skills on Lake Deerhaven with a qualified Red Cross instructor, and then enjoy three different canoeing field trips during the week amid 383,573 acres of unique ecological sites, trails and natural springs of the Ocala National Forest. Return to camp each evening for dinner and sleeping.

Paisley

With a population of around 700, Paisley is in Lake County, whose orange groves, striking beauty and more than 1,000 lakes have lured visitors since it was settled in the 1840s. The town borders the Ocala National Forest, where mild winters accommodate year-round camping, and the cool waters of its many springs are perfect for summertime swimming.

Day 1:

Check-in, Registration, and Orientation.
(Sunday, April 7)

Afternoon:	Welcome to Deerhaven. Registration and check-in from 3:30-5:00 PM. Each participant will receive an orientation folder and name tag.
Dinner:	Served in dining area of main building.
Evening:	Information and schedules in the orientation packets will be discussed and all participants will share in a "get acquainted" activity to get to know each other a little better.

Day 2:

Canoe instruction and practice on Lake Deerhaven.
(Monday, April 8)

Breakfast:	Served in dining area of main building.
Morning:	Guest speaker on birding.
Lunch:	Picnic lunch at Deerhaven Conference Center.
Afternoon:	Briefing by canoe instructor in main building. Unrack canoes for launch on Lake Deerhaven. Practice paddling and maneuvering strokes on land. Launch canoes and practice skills on Lake Deerhaven.
Dinner:	Served in dining area of main building.
Evening:	Evening entertainment.

Day 3:

Canoe Alexander Spring in the Ocala National Forest

Afternoon:	Continue and finish Alexander Spring run.

Evening:	Evening entertainment.

Canoe at Lake Norris in the cypress strand

Lunch:	Picnic lunch on bank of Lake Norris (no restroom facilities)
Afternoon:	Finish canoe trip on Lake Norris. Return to Deerhaven.

Canoe at Juniper Spring in the Ocala National Forest.
