Whether you’re a devoted fan, live with the baseball-addicted, or just enjoy The Game, attend Major League Spring Training with the Braves, Astros, and Nationals. Attend at least two and, if available, three MLB Spring Training games during the program. If only two MLB games are available (rare), we will try to schedule a college game. Plan for a grand slam experience and bring those mitts, cameras, and autograph books.




Highlights

• Meet and talk with players, coaches, and others as they share their lives and experiences, and hear from sports medicine experts on the mechanics of pitching and injuries.
• Get to know Society for Baseball Research members who share the history they are attempting to save and delve into baseball controversies, review rules, and discuss how The Game impacts American culture.
• As a special highlight, enjoy an excursion to Disney's Wide World of Sports.

DeLand is within easy reach of Disney World, the Daytona International Speedway, Sea World and Universal Studios. The town itself, known as the “Athens of Florida,” is surrounded by spring-fed lakes and acres of orange groves. The nearby Blue Spring State Park is home to manatees.

Driving Directions
  To DeLand From Orlando/Tampa (Interstate 4, eastbound) -- Take the first DeLand exit (Exit 114) and turn left on State Road 472. Travel approximately three miles and veer right onto Highway 17/92, which later becomes Woodland Boulevard. Travel through downtown DeLand (5 miles) and you'll see the university's main gates at East Minnesota Avenue. From Jacksonville (Interstate 95, southbound) -- Take the International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92) exit (Exit 261B) and head west approximately 20 miles into DeLand. Turn left at 17/92 (Woodland Boulevard). Travel south through two traffic lights before entering the Stetson campus area at the main gates at East Minnesota Avenue. From Miami (Interstate 95, northbound) -- Take Exit 249 and head west on State Road 44 approximately 20 miles into DeLand. S.R. 44 will become New York Avenue as you approach DeLand. Turn right on Amelia Avenue and the Stetson campus area will begin after the traffic light. Turn left onto East Michigan Avenue and right at Woodland Boulevard. The main gates will be at East Minnesota Avenue. From Ocala (I-75) -- Take Exit 358 and head east on State Road 326. Travel approximately 15 miles and turn left on State Road 40. Travel approximately 45 miles and turn right on U.S. Highway 17. Travel about 15 miles into DeLand. U.S. 17 will become Woodland Boulevard as you approach the university. You'll arrive at the Stetson campus area when you see the brick entry at East Minnesota Avenue.

 Afternoon: Registration at 4:00 PM followed by walking tour of the university and get aquainted sesssion.
 Dinner: Banquet style. Professors invited to say hello.
 Evening: Orientation.

(Monday, March 11)
   
 Breakfast: Mingle with our students. The Stetson University Dining Commons offers a wide variety of selections at several different food stations. Waffles, French toast, eggs of your choice and other options are available at breakfast. Main entrée selections for lunch and dinner change daily. You can build a salad from the variety of produce at the salad bar or get a bowl of soup du jour. In addition to a pasta bar, there is also a “side” bar that offers choices such as steamed vegetables, baked potatoes, and rice.

 Evening: Optional college game - Stetson University v/s Bethune Cookman. Transportation will be provided or you may drive yourself.

 Morning: "Where has Sandlot Baseball Gone?" lecture with Dr. Matt Wilson and then board the bus for Kissimmee

 Afternoon: Baseball game - Washington Nationals v/s Houston Astros
 Dinner: Dinner will be in the Stetson Cafeteria.
 Evening: Class TBA

 Morning: Class TBA and in the later morning board bus to Viera for game.

 Afternoon: Game in Viera - Houston Astros v/s Washington Nationals. GREAT SEATS!

 Evening: "As the Economy goes, so does the Astros" with Mr. Wade Berstler
