Sharon Foehl
Sharon began working as a Site Coordinator and Group Leader with Road Scholar programming throughout Vermont in 2003. Since that time, she has helped in developing programs that take her all over New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia. She received her certification with IGA (International Guide Academy) in 2012 and continues working with them as an instructor helping others achieve certification as tour guides and directors.
 
Keith Kibler
Keith Kibler made his national debut with the Opera Theater of St. Louis and the Boston symphony, with Seiji Ozawa conducting. He has sung over 30 lead operatic roles internationally and is also an accomplished lieder singer. Trained in Vienna, London and Boston, Keith received his doctorate and performer’s certificate from the Eastman School of Music. He teaches a course on music drama at Skidmore College and has taught courses on opera at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
 
Rosalind Cramer
Rosalind Cramer is professor emeritus of theatre arts at Daemen College, where she taught for 36 years. In addition to teaching, she has performed in or directed more than 250 productions and has written several plays. She also co-founded the award-winning Theatre of Youth Company. Roz has been honored with inclusion on the Western New York Walk of Fame and received an Arties Lifetime Achievement Award. She and her husband now split their time between Williamstown, Mass., and Sarasota, Fla., and she enjoys serving as an instructor on Road Scholar programs in both locations.

Day 1: Afternoon Arrival/Orientation

 Arrive To: CHECK IN:Please arrive at the Hotel to register between 3:00 and 4:30pm. Check in at the front desk and then register with Road Scholar staff in the Main lobby. You will then have until 5:00pm to settle into your room.
 Dinner: All dinners will be served at the hotel. Please remember that all dinners are buffet style or plated, sit-down meals and to arrive at the time indicated on your itinerary.
 Evening: ORIENTATION: After dinner we will have our Orientation. This will provide you with information about the inn, program itinerary, instructors, venues and on site staff. We will discuss how with cultural institutions including Tanglewood, Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Francine & Sterling Clark Art Institute and other regional theatres, the Berkshires have earned the privilege of calling themselves America's Premiere Cultural Resort. We will then ask participants introduce themselves to the group. This is also a good opportunity to ask questions.

Day 2: MassMoCA/Opera Recital
(Tuesday, July 30)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the Inn.
 Morning: FIELD TRIP: Since opening in 1999, MASS MoCA has become one of the world's premier centers for making and showing the best art of our time. With annual attendance of 120,000, it ranks among the most visited institutions in the United States dedicated to new art. More than 80 major new works of art and more than 50 performances have been created through fabrication and rehearsal residencies in North Adams, making MASS MoCA perhaps the most fertile site in the country for new art. The museum thrives on making and presenting work that is fresh, surprising, and challenging.
 Lunch: Lunch is at the hotel. Please remember that lunches are plated, sit-down meals and to arrive at the time indicated on your itinerary.
 Afternoon: PRESENTATION: This afternoon's lecture is given by a Berkshire historian. Learn why the Berkshires are such a lovely and popular spot for visitors from all over.
 Dinner: All dinners will be served at the hotel. Please remember that all dinners are buffet style or plated, sit-down meals and to arrive at the time indicated on your itinerary.
 Evening: PERFORMANCE: This evening, enjoy a recital by opera singer, Keith Kibler. Keith has made his national debut with the Opera Theater of St. Louis and the Boston symphony, Seiji Ozawa conducting. He has sung over thirty lead operatic roles internationally and is also an accomplished lieder singer. Trained in Vienna, London and Boston, Mr. Kibler received his doctorate and performer’s certificate from the Eastman School of music. Day 3: Cark Art Institute/Williamstown Theatre Festival
(Wednesday, July 31)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: FIELD TRIP: This morning we travel to the Clark Art Institute, the Berkshire's premier museum. In 1950 Sterling and Francine Clark chartered the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute as a home for their extensive art collection. Opened to public in 1955, the Institute has built upon this extraordinary group of works to become one of the most beloved and respected art museums in the world, known for its intimate galleries and stunning natural environment. One of the few institutions in the United States that combines a public art museum with a complement of research and academic programs, including a major art history library, the Clark is now a leading international center for research and discussion on the nature of art and art history. Building upon the founders' legacy, the Institute has recently unveiled its master plan for the twenty-first century, which fosters the Clark's commitment to providing space for its expanding research and museum programs while maintaining the unique character of its beautiful rural setting.

 Evening: PERFORMANCE: This evening we will travel to Williamstown Theatre Festival. JOHNNY BASEBALL Book by Richard Dresser Music by Robert Reale Lyrics by Willie Reale Directed by Marc Bruni The infamous Curse of the Boston Red Sox is brought to life through the changing fortunes of three orphaned souls: Johnny O'Brien, a hard-luck right-hander on the 1919 Sox; his idol, Babe Ruth; and Daisy Wyatt, a dazzling African-American blues singer and the love of Johnny's life. The mystical intertwining of their fates reveals both the source of the Curse and the secret to its triumphant end off Big Papi's bat in 2004. Packing a resonant commentary on social history into a quintessentially American musical, Johnny Baseball will bring cheers and tears to baseball fans and theatre lovers alike. Every effort will be made to also include a pre or post show talk or a meet and greet with actors, interns or backstage staff. Nestled in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts, the Williamstown Theatre Festival is a celebration of theater that brings together a vast array of artists and offers audiences varied cultural experiences. Every summer, WTF presents classic and new plays on its Main, Nikos and Center Stages. WTF's many training programs offer nearly two hundred aspiring theater artists and managers an opportunity to study acting or serve as interns with professional designers, directors and administrators.

The beautiful Ladies of France meet the Lords of Navarre, and disguises and deception lead to marriage proposals in a whirlwind of good intentions and broken promises. How can you create a lasting relationship while pursuing personal perfection and power? How do you educate the heart as well as the head? These ancient struggles are the stuff of constant confusion in this contemporary exploration of the labyrinth of love.

 Morning: PRESENTATION: This morning, Keith gives you a lecture on tonight's Tanglewod performance.

 Afternoon: PRESENTATION: This afternoon Keith continues his lecture.
 Dinner: Dinner is served at the hotel or on the grouds of Tanglewood.
 Evening: PERFORMANCE: This evening at Tanglewood we enjoy the BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA Strauss, Beethoven and Poulenc - UnderScore Friday – The Serge and Olga Koussevitzky Memorial Concert Several Friday-evening Shed performances will be part of the popular UnderScore Friday series this season. At these performances, patrons will hear comments about the program directly from an onstage BSO musician Tanglewood was named for American author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Hawthorne, on the advice of his publisher William Ticknor, rented a small cottage in the area in March 1850 from William Aspinwall Tappan. While at the cottage Hawthorne wrote Tanglewood Tales (1853), a re-writing of a number of Greek myths for boys and girls. In memory of the book, the owner renamed the cottage "Tanglewood", and the name was soon copied by a nearby summer estate owned by the Tappan family. Tanglewood concerts can be traced back to 1936, when the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) gave its first concerts in the Berkshires.
