Day 1: Check-In and Program Registration/Orientation

 Afternoon: Please arrive at the hotel to register at 4:30pm. Check into your room at the front desk and then register with Road Scholar staff in the Main lobby. You will then have until 6:00 PM to settle into your room.
 Dinner: Meals unless otherwise indicated may be at the hotel or a local restaurant. Please arrive at the time indicated on your itinerary.
 Evening: After dinner we will have orientation. This will provide you with information about the hotel, program itinerary, instructors, venues and on site staff. This is also a good opportunity to ask questions!

Day 2: MIM / Music Appreciation / Native American Flute Playing
(Tuesday, January 8)
   
 Breakfast: All breakfasts are deluxe continental. Come down by the time indicated on the itinerary; just be sure to allow enough time to arrive promptly for the morning activity!
 Morning: Class - Bringing Musicals to Life. There is far more to the theater than a mere performance; sets must be created, scripts must be edited, and actors must be chosen. Learn about the behind-the-scenes action that makes theater a truly magical experience, and how a performance evolves from page to stage.
 Lunch: Explore the rustic, savory cuisine of Arizona with this meal on your own.
 Afternoon: Field Trip - Musical Instrument Museum.

Day 4: Frank Lloyd Wright / Taliesin West / Phoenix Theatre presents, "Emma"

 Afternoon: Embark on an expert-led visit of Taliesin West. Nestled in the foothills of rugged mountains and surrounded by the spectacular Sonoran Desert lies Taliesin West: a sprawling 600-acre complex designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright. Frank Lloyd Wright literally created Taliesin (pronounced TALLY EHSSEN) West "out of the desert." He and his apprentices gathered rocks from the desert floor and sand from the washes to build this great desert masterpiece. From the beginning, this remarkable set of buildings astounded architectural critics with its beauty and unusual form.

 Evening: Arizona Theater Company presents: Jane Austen's Emma - One of Jane Austen's most enchanting heroines comes to life in this lavish new musical in its pre-Broadway engagement. Emma firmly believes herself to be a most talented matchmaker, so she chooses her hapless friend Harriet as her next endeavor.

Day 5: Frank Sinatra / Friday 1/11/13 Arizona Broadway Dinner Theatre Presents "Hello Dolly" All Shows Subject to Change
(Friday, January 11)

 Morning: Class on Frank Sinatra.
 Lunch: Lunch will either be a delicious meal at the hotel or a savory dish at a favorite local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Spend some time studying and engaging in discussion with a talented musician. You're guaranteed to learn something new!
 Dinner: Dinner at the Theatre.
 Evening: Arizona Broadway Dinner Theater presents: Hello Dolly -"Some people paint, some sew. I meddle," says Dolly Levi, the famous matchmaker, in this most engaging of musical comedies and winner of 10 Tony Awards. Dolly spends most of her time pairing others, but soon decides it's time to settle a match for herself, which she accomplishes, but only after a ruckus at an upscale restaurant!
