Learn to express your ideas through the beauty of watercolor on the gem of the Golden Isles of Georgia — Jekyll Island. Build a solid foundation of basic skills and learn the unique properties of watercolor: pigments, color mixing, brush control, glazing and laying washes. Through natural progression, study the shape, color, form and composition of various subject matter; your choice of landscape, flowers, people, or buildings. Be inspired on this tranquil island and paint your masterpiece.
Highlights
• Enjoy ample individual attention from an instructor who enthusiastically leads you from subject selection through sketching to a finished painting. • Daily demonstrations and exercises introduce ideas and techniques in a loose and free approach. • Explore Jekyll Island during free time, and learn how the island was made into a winter retreat for families including the Rockefellers and Pulitzers.

Jekyll Island
One of Georgia’s southernmost barrier islands, Jekyll Island has a storied past. At the turn of the century, it hosted an exclusive club that attracted the likes of the Astors, Rockefellers and Vanderbilts. Much of that world is preserved in a historic district near the riverfront. Today, the island is popular for golfing, fishing and kayaking.
