Experience some of New England’s finest cross-country skiing in the heart of Vermont’s unspoiled Northeast Kingdom. Led by expert ski instructors, enjoy an introduction to cross-country skiing or a refresher course to hone your skills at every ability level. Whether your goal is physical training or exploring Vermont’s scenic treasures, you’ll have extensive options on trails that are wide, expertly maintained, and groomed daily for classical and skate ski techniques.

Yoga and cross country skiing - a match made in heaven! Yoga is the perfect way to warm up for, cool down from, and build skills necessary for improving ski technique. Daily yoga classes will increase your flexibility and strength, improve your balance, and help to both prevent and cure common ski-related (and non-ski-related) aches and pains, while daily ski lessons and tours build your confidence and proficiency out on the trails. Whether you already have a regular yoga practice or are just interested in trying something new, you will find a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where participants at every level are encouraged to play, explore and honor their individuality.

This exciting double program will introduce you to a variety of film and short stories. "Now and Then," an exploration of film genre, will include documentary, animation, short film, and full length film. Discussion will follow most presentations. The stories, by contemporary authors, will range from the humorous to the contemplative. Discussion will focus on identifying various perspectives - of the authors , of the characters they create, and of ourselves as readers. Evenings will include active participation with literature and at least one full length film.

New England Music and Country Dance: Learn the history of traditional country dance and song. Instructors offer old standbys as well as newer songs and dances from New England, the Canadian Maritimes, the British Isles and Scandinavia. Live music to accompany song and dance will be provided by guitar, banjo and fiddle - bolstered one evening each week with additional local musicians for a festive contra dance.

| | David Kaynor is a fiddler and expert contra dance caller. “Contra dance” refers to several styles of folk dance in which couples face each other in lines; they are especially popular in New England. David grew up playing music and took up the fiddle in 1974, then began calling local contra dances around 1980. He has called and taught dancing at many folk schools and music camps from Vermont to California to Sweden. | | | | George Wilson
| | A talented, multi-instrumental virtuoso and singer, George Wilson's repertoire samples a wide variety of traditional and folk styles. As a fiddler, he has nearly 400 tunes for dancing and listening, and has been popular with contra dancers and concert-goers since the late 1970s. George has performed and recorded with Fennig's All-Star String Band and the Whippersnappers since the mid-70s, and has shared his music at contra dances, festivals and dance camps around the country. | | | | Barbara Green
| | A self-employed artist and graphic designer, Barbara Green has a great love of films. She has shared her artwork extensively in exhibitions, publications, collections and commissions. Barbara holds a master’s in economics from Ohio State University, and has taught both economics and watercolors at Rhode Island School of Design. | | | | Joan Glazer
| | Dr. Joan Glazer received her Ph.D. from Ohio State University, and taught in the Education and English Departments at Rhode Island College in Providence. She is the author of two college level textbooks on literature for children, as well as numerous articles on literature and literacy. Joan spent the 2002-2003 academic year in Norway as a Fulbright Scholar in American Studies. Now retired, she remains active professionally, leading organizations and teaching when the opportunity arises. | | | |
