Tee off at the beach! Learn golf basics or take your game to the next level through golf clinics taught by local professionals from the Original Golf School. Instruction will include fundamentals such as developing your swing, maneuvering the ball, analyzing your strengths and weaknesses and the basic rules and etiquette of the game. On a program great for beginners and intermediate-level players, hone your skills and learn to limit the mulligans.




Highlights

• Learn and play at The Bay Club, a championship golf course nestled amid the picturesque woodlands and natural wetlands of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
• Participate in clinics with a ratio of at most six students per instructor.
• No extra charge for greens fees, carts or club rentals (but you can bring your own clubs if you want).



Activity Particulars

Four days of golf instruction and play on course with mostly flat, occasionally slightly hilly terrain. Carts provided.

Ocean City

This 2001 “All-American City” best known for its vibrant, turn-of-the-century boardwalk and white-sand beaches is also home to nearby Assateague Island National Seashore, a barrier island rich in wildlife and famous for its wild pony herd.
Accommodations
Classic hotel located directly on the beach and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean! Features include non-smoking rooms (some ocean-view), restaurants, an exercise room, and year-round indoor pool.

Bob Affelder
Bob Affelder is a PGA professional and the director of The Original Golf School in Ocean City, Md. He played golf and earned his degree at Rollins College before working to become a PGA pro. Bob has taught hundreds of classes to golfers in Maryland, Vermont, Florida and even Switzerland, where he was one of four pros who started the country’s first golf school. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of the golf swing, course management and club selection with Road Scholar participants.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Arrival/Orientation
(Sunday, May 5)
   
 Afternoon: At 5:00 p.m. your on-site coordinator will meet you in the conference room to welcome you and go over your schedule for the week. You will receive your packet with schedule information, etc. at this time.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.
 Evening: An evening to relax after dinner.

Day 2: Golf Instruction
(Monday, May 6)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Begin your week meeting with a golf pro presentating Rules and Etiquette, club design, and a discussion of grip and club selection.. Morinng session will prepare you for your week at the Bay Club, a 27 hole championship course located in Berlin, Maryland.
 Lunch: Lunch at the hotel.
 Afternoon: Departure after lunch to Bay Club Golf Links for range instruction by assigned pros associated with the Original Golf School. Each pros group of 6 students is prepared for the advanced golfer to the novice. Groups based on golf survey provided.
 Dinner: Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 3: Tee Times
(Tuesday, May 7)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Departure for Bay Club Golf Links after breakfast. Begin day with range instruction (i.e. chipping, driving, putting). A video of your swing will help to bring home the necessary work for your week.
 Lunch: Lunch at Bay Club Golf Links Club House
 Afternoon: Following lunch the instructors will accompany you for your tee off for the afternoon. Holes are surrounded by a mature stand of trees, water holes and sand traps.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Tee Times
(Wednesday, May 8)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Departure for Bay Club Golf Links following breakfast. Morning Tee Times, instructor accompanied on front nine.
 Lunch: Lunch at Bay Club Golf Links Club House.
 Afternoon: Independent Afternoon. Remain on and play another nine holes at a nominal charge. Or, if you need a break, return to the hotel or do some sight seeing in the area.
 Evening: Free time to enjoy the coastal community of Ocean City, MD. Independent dinner.

Day 5: Field Trip/Instruction
