Venture to Nepals subtropical lowlands and Chitwan National Park. On safaris by elephant and by Jeep, search lush grassland and jungle for wildlife including the sloth bear and leopard. Take a boat excursion on the Narayani River, home to gharial crocodiles. Visit a traditional village of the Tharu people and learn about their culture.

Nestled in the Himalayan mountain range, Nepal is home to eight of the worlds highest peaks including the majestic Mount Everest. Unpredictable weather patterns make climbing Everest a difficult feat for even the most seasoned mountaineers, but an average of 2,000 climbers reach its summit annually.

  Description: The resort will feature 15 single and double villas each with its own private balcony overlooking the Chitwan National Park, surrounding Bote villages, the Narayani River and the layout of the resort has been designed to depict a typical jungle safari resort. The thatched roofs of the villas are made from the abundant Siru grass therefore they blend easily into the surroundings. The lodge is located in Amaltari of the Chitwan National Park on the banks of the Narayani river and has close proximity to the National Park a mere half hour boat ride away and to the present Temple Tiger Jungle Lodge.

  Room amenities: The tastefully decorated rooms with local artifacts have wood floors with throw carpets, a cozy living area and twin/ double bed, the spacious attached bathrooms with solar heated running hot and cold water are a beautiful blend of wood, granite and bamboo (rattan).

  End of Program:
After breakfast at the hotel in Kathmandu on Day 7. You will be staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel Kathmandu Soaltee the night before.

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Fly to Chitwan National Park
(Saturday, February 2)
 Depart From: Fly to Bharatpur and drive to Chitwan National Park. As you descend towards the Terai lowland of Chitwan, rich wildlife, lush grasslands and sights of rare species of bird and animals unfolds before you. Home to several rare species in particular, the one-horned rhinoceros, leopard, bear, wild boar, deer, bison, crocodiles Chitwan national park is rich in wildlife.
 Lunch: Late lunch at the Temple Triger Jungle Lodge.
 Afternoon: After checking into the lodge, in the late afternoon join a jungle safari on elephant back. Travel deep into the jungle for viewing and photographing wildlife.
 Dinner: Dinner at the lodge.

Day 2: Jungle Safari
(Sunday, February 3)
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the lodge.
 Morning: After breakfast you will leave on a jeep safari. The jeep safari takes you through jungle thickest in search of game. The safari ends at the river bank where you will then continue on canoe back to the lodge. The canoe ride provides an opportunity for viewing Gharial crocodiles as well as the mugger crocodiles, and varieties of water birds.
 Lunch: Lunch back at the lodge.
 Afternoon: Your naturalist at the lodge will provide an interesting lecture on the Asian elephant, outlining the difference between the Asian & African elephant and their behavior. In the late afternoon, join a nature walk or go on a bird watch with on of the naturalists from the park.
 Dinner: Dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Tharu Village/Coach to Pokhara
(Monday, February 4)

Note: The coach to Pokhara from Chitwan can take about 7 hours with rest stops.

 Breakfast: Breakfast at the lodge.
 Morning: After breakfast, depart for Pokhara. On the way, stop by a Tharu village, where you will learn about the Tharu people, a tribe of Chitwan. Then continue to visit a local school and meet the children of this village.
 Lunch: Lunch enroute.
 Afternoon: Arrive in Pokhara in the late afternoon and check into the hotel.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Pokhara/ Sarangkot Village/ Fewa Lake
(Tuesday, February 5)
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Depart on a discovery of Pokhara. Explore Sarangkot Village and the Seti River Gorge. During the walking discovery, visit one of the old local markets surrounding the temple. Also visit Hemja Village where a Buddhist Monastery is located. Hemja village is located in one of the remote places of Pokhara, where 90% of the people depend on agriculture for their living.
 Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Embark on a one hour boat ride at Lake Phewa. Boating is a must and there are three major boat harbors Gaurighat (East) just in front of the Royal Palace, Barahighat near the Snow land Hotel (West) near the Barahi Temple in the middle of the lake and a third one near the municipal camping ground in Kahare.
 Dinner: Dinner on own.

Day 5: Pokhara/Fly to Kathmandu
(Wednesday, February 6)
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: After breakfast, transfer to the airport to connect with flight to Kathmandu.

 Afternoon: Free afternoon to explore Kathmandu.
 Dinner: Dinner at a special restaurant.

Day 6: Depart Kathmandu for flight home

 Depart From: Freetime in Kathmandu until time for transfer to the airport.
