Accept the challenge of three 9-hole championship courses on an exotic island. Learn through daily group instruction, practice sessions on a driving range, and four days of golf. Play all 27 holes along a landscape framed by moss-draped live oaks. Round out your stay on the island with a field trip to explore St. Simons and a taste of local cuisine at a favorite island spot. Test your golf skills at this impressive resort designed especially for those who love golf — with lots for non-golfers to do as well.

Pristine waters and white sandy beaches make St. Simons Island a popular destination. Part of the Golden Isles, the landscape’s moss-draped oaks, shady lanes and creek-fed pockets of marsh create a thriving habitat for birds, turtles, armadillos and deer.

  Facility amenities: Sea Palms Golf and Tennis Resort offers 27 holes of golf on three newly renovated courses. Enjoy spectacular views of the marsh while placing challenging shots over lagoons and beneath the majestic live oaks. Two pristine swimming pools, both with children’s wading areas, are located on the property. One is adjacent to the guest rooms and restaurant and the other is at the tennis and fitness center facility. Enjoy the tiki bar located beside the pool and the Putters Room and bar. For fitness enthusiasts, we are pleased to announce the opening of a new fitness facility as part of the existing tennis and fitness center. State of the art resistance and aerobic equipment will help keep you in shape while on vacation or attending a conference. Bicycles may be rented for full- and half-days at the Golf Pro shop. Biking is the perfect way to experience the beauty of St. Simons Island to its fullest.   Start of Program:
Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm. Road Scholar check-in and orientation begins at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 6:30 pm. You will be staying at Sea Palms Golf and Tennis Resort that night.
  End of Program:
Program ends with 11:00 am check-out. Golfers may extend their stay and play golf on their own. You may leave your luggage at hotel desk. You will be staying at Sea Palms Golf and Tennis Resort the night before.

  From Atlanta, GA to Sea Palms Resort On St. Simons Island, GA DIRECTIONS TO SEA PALMS FROM ATLANTA, GA I-75 South to Macon - I-16 East to Savannah - 1-95 South to Georgia Exit #38 - Turn left off ramp onto Georgia Spur 25 - Spur 25 will merge with US Hwy 17 South after eight traffic signals - Follow US Hwy 17 South to third traffic signal and turn left onto the St. Simons Island (Torras) Causeway - Arriving on the island, bear left at the round-a-bout, onto Sea Island Road. - Proceed approximately 2.5 miles to the traffic signal and turn left, (Frederica Road) - Sea Palms Guest Registration building is 1.5 miles on the left - Clubhouse and Conference Center are across the street on Windward Drive

Daily Schedule

Day 1: Hotel Check-In after 4:00 PM
(Sunday, October 13)
   
 Afternoon: Hotel check-in begins at 4:00 pm. After receiving your room assignment, follow the directions given to you by the Sea Palms staff to the conference center. Your group leader will be available to check you in and give you your packet of information, name badge and updated daily schedule at 5:30 pm. Dinner will follow orientation in the conference area at 6:30 pm.
 Dinner: Dinner is at 6:30 pm in the conference area.
 Evening: The evening is free and a time to unpack and get to know your hotel and surroundings.

Day 2: Full Swing/Putting/Sand Play/Golf Begins/Golf Stretch
(Monday, October 14)
   
 Breakfast: Full breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Golf Clinic and lecture on golf etiquette. Golf lesson on the putting green with golf pro.
 Lunch: Lunch at the hotel.
 Afternoon: Golf play will begin at 1:00 pm.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.
 Evening: Golf stretch class. How to loosen up before starting to play....injury free golf.

Day 3: Golf Instruction/Lunch/Play Golf/St. Simons History
(Tuesday, October 15)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at hotel.
 Morning: Golf pro's will give a lecture and demonstration on chipping and will once again emphasize putting on the green.
 Lunch: Lunch at hotel.
 Afternoon: Golf play begins at 1:00 pm.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.
 Evening: A presentation called Barrier Island Dynamics will help you better understand how the mainland is protected by the outer barrier islands as well as revealing facts about the shifting sand.

Day 4: St. Simons Field Trip/Popular Local Restaurant/Play Golf/Dinner/Free Evening
(Wednesday, October 16)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast at the hotel.
 Morning: Participants will board the trolley for a field trip on St. Simons Island to introduce you to your beautiful surroundings. An historian will accompany you and give a narrative along the way about the history of the island, stopping at selected sites. The group will be getting on and off the motorcoach for a closer look at some of the important architectural gems.
 Lunch: Sample local cuisine at a popular local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Golf play begins at 1:30 pm.
 Dinner: Dinner at hotel.

Day 5: Club Fitting/Golf instruction/Lunch/Golf Scramble/Farewell Dinner/Social

 Afternoon: Golf Scramble will take place at 1:00 pm.
