Tom Daley

Mr. Tom Daley is an architectural photographer who has spent the last 40 years taking photos of mansions in the Hudson Valley, some of which are no longer in existence. His photos have been used by authors, are displayed in prominent places, and are presented at historical functions.
 
Gloria Norton

Gloria Norton has shared her love for music for more than 40 years in the Fort Lee public schools in Fort Lee, N.J. She has also served as a church musician for over 25 years in New Jersey, New York and Michigan. Gloria received a bachelor’s degree from Hope College in Holland, Mich., and a master’s in sacred music from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She also completed graduate study in music education at Montclair State University in Montclair, N.J.

Driving Directions
  FROM CONNECTICUT Take Rt 84 West to Exit 4E, taking Route 17 East to Route 17A Florida/Goshen Exit 124. Take Route 17A until it merges with Rt 94 at the first traffic light in Florida. Drive THROUGH the Villages of Florida and Warwick. Stay on Rt 94 South until Pennings Lane. Turn Left onto Pennings Lane. Follow the signs to The Warwick Center.
  FROM NEW YORK THRUWAY/NORTH OR SOUTH Exit at Harriman - Exit 16. Take Rt 17 West to Exit 126 - Chester exit. Look for Route 94 South (or West). Take Rt 94 South toward Florida/Warwick. Continue on Rt 94 through the Villages of Florida and Warwick. Go approximately 2 1/2 miles beyond the Village of Warwick passing Shop Rite, Pennings Orchards and Warwick Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership, all on your left. Turn left at the next intersection onto Pennings Lane. Follow signs to the Warwick Center.
  FROM SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY Take 287 North to Exit 52B for Rt. 23 North. Take Rt. 23 North to 515 North. Take 515 North to Vernon where 515 North becomes Rt 94 North. Take Rt 94 North to Pennings Lane. Turn right onto Pennings Lane. Follow signs to The Warwick Center.
  FROM WASHINGTON, D.C./PHILADELPHIA AREA Take the New Jersey Turnpike to the Garden State Parkway North to Route 17 North. Approximately 2 1/2 miles past Tuxedo Park you will come to a traffic light. Exit left at the traffic light - Junction 17A. At the stop sign at the top of the hill, make a left hand turn onto Rt 17A (Sterling Forest). Rt 17A will take you directly to Warwick. At the "T" intersection in Warwick, turn LEFT onto Route 94 West. Go approximately 2 1/2 miles passing Shop Rite, Pennings Orchards and Warwick Chrysler Jeep Dodge Dealership, all on the left. Turn left at the next intersection onto Pennings Lane. Follow the signs to The Warwick Center.
  NYC/GEORGE WASHINGTON BRIDGE From the GW Bridge, take Interstate 80 West to Exit 53 for Rt 23 North. Take Rt 23 North to 515 North. Take 515 North to Vernon where 515 North becomes Rt 94 North. Take Rt 94 North to Pennings Lane. Turn right onto Pennings Lane. Then follow signs to The Warwick Center.

 Evening: (All itinerary details subject to change.) Introductions & Orientation. Introduction to Country Mansions on The Hudson River.

Day 2: Visit to Locust Grove. Mansion of artist/inventor of the telegraph/Morse code. Docent led tour of Boscobel Mansion.
(Monday, December 10)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.
 Morning: Hudson Valley Mansions - Lecture and slides. Board bus for Poughkeepsie, NY. Visit Locust Grove, the home of Samuel Morse.
 Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.
 Afternoon: Board bus for Garrison, NY. Guided tour of Boscobel Mansion. Return to The Warwick Center.
 Dinner: Dinner served buffet style at 6:00 P.M. in the East House Dining Hall.
 Evening: Lecture on Hudson River mansions with slide presentation and NYC Overview in preparation for NYC trip. Evening Snack.

Day 3: Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Nutcracker Ballet performance at Lincoln Center.

 Morning: Board bus for New York City. Destination: The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Fifth Ave. at 82nd Street. Free time for activities of your choice ie. museum, shopping, sightseeing.
 Lunch: Lunch on your own at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
 Afternoon: Board bus for Lincoln Center. Attend The Nutcracker Ballet at The New York State Theater.
 Dinner: Dinner on your own in NYC.
 Evening: Return to The Warwick Center.

Day 4: Attend the Radio City Spectacular Christmas Show. Sightseeing and shopping in NYC.

 Lunch: Lunch on your own in NYC.
 Afternoon: Free time for window browsing, shopping, sightseeing, and tours such as Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Center tour, etc.
 Dinner: Dinner on your own in NYC.
 Evening: Return to The Warwick Center. Evening Snack.

Day 5: Visit Mills Mansion in Staatsburgh, NY. Docent led tour at Wilderstein Mansion in Rhinebeck, NY.
(Thursday, December 13)

 Morning: Board bus for Staatsburgh, NY. Docent led tour of Mills Mansion. A Gilded Age mansion and the country home of Ogden and Ruth Livingston Mills.
 Lunch: Lunch in either Rhinebeck, NY or Hyde Park, NY.
 Afternoon: Docent led tour of Wilderstein, Queen Ann mansion of the Suckley Family - home to Daisy Suckley, FDR's cousin and companion. Return to The Warwick Center.
 Dinner: Late dinner served buffet style in the East House Dining Hall.
 Evening: Free Time. Wine and cheese around the fireplace.

  Washington's Headquarters
Gen. Washington made this fieldstone farmhouse his Continental Army headquarters and spent more time here than anywhere else during the Revolutionary War.
