12:00 hotel check-out; Program ends after morning class around 11 AM. You will be staying at Courtyard Marriott Historic District the night before.
  Required documents:
The Road Scholar Health & Safety Form is required. Signing a Waiver of Liability/Hold Harmless Agreement is required in order to participate in the program. This form is mailed with the welcome materials and is to be mailed back to the university before the program begins.

Parking is free at a private, secure parking lot that is located near the hotel. Valet parking is $10 per day.

  From Interstate 95 Take Interstate 95 North or South to I-16 East, Exit 99A toward downtown Savannah. Travel East on I-16 until it ends at a traffic light at Liberty Street. Turn left at this light onto Liberty Street. The hotel will be on your left.

 Afternoon: Afternoon-check-in at the hotel is at 3:00 and Road Scholar registration is in the lobby between 5 and 6. Cookies and punch will be served while you get to know your fellow participants.

Day 2: Savannah's Historical Splendor/Entertainment
(Monday, May 14)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast in the hotel.
 Morning: In this morning's lecture, discuss the fascinating aspects of Savannah's history that shaped Southern culture.
 Lunch: Lunch at a local Southern restaurant for a taste of real Southern food.
 Afternoon: An expert-led walking adventure of the Historic District, museum homes, and beautiful sites in the city will give personal experience and a true sense of Savannah's long journey.
 Dinner: Dinner at the hotel.
 Evening: Evening Entertainment

Day 3: Gems of Savannah - History, Art, and Architecture
(Tuesday, May 15)

 Afternoon: This afternoon, accompanied by a local historian, we'll take an excursion to see more gems of Savannah, including some of the most notable churches and art galleries in the historic district.

Day 5: The People of Savannah, Past and Present
(Thursday, May 17)
   
 Breakfast: Breakfast in the hotel.
 Morning: Continue to discuss Savannah's past and present in this morning's lecture. Her people are as vibrant today as they were during Georgia's earliest settlement.
 Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant.
 Afternoon: In an afternoon field trip, discover how Savannah's people have revived and adapted many of her original treasures by exploring the historic district.
 Dinner: Enjoy a farewell graduation dinner at a local restaurant.
 Evening: Evening entertainment
