It's a lively beginning.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Acadians — descendants of 17th-century French colonists — were expelled from Canada by the British during the French and Indian War (1755-1763), followed by a 30-year odyssey of wandering. But they endured, persevered, and settled in south Louisiana to become the Cajuns we know today, developing a vibrant culture that is a unique part of Louisiana’s heritage. Faced with devastating hurricanes and an epic oil spill, will the people hit so hard find ways to carry on their way of life? Will their spirit and joie de vivre see them through? You’ll meet and talk with university professors, local oil field workers, fishermen, and others who continue to survive against all odds.
