Day 1: Arrival, Orientation, Introductions

(Sunday, October 25)



Afternoon:

 

After arriving at the Plaza Hotel, check into your hotel rooms, (if rooms are not available at check-in, 3:00 PM, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery until the room is ready).



Dinner:

 

5:45 PM, In the Hotel Conference Room, Road Scholar Registration and pick up information packet and meet the Coordinator(s) and enjoy dinner around 6:00 PM.



Evening:

 

After dinner, in the Hotel Conference Room, Welcome to Salt Lake City, Introductions and Family History Research and Overview of the week.

Day 2: An inspiring class discussion on Genealogy. Hands-on research experience with an expert Genealogist. VIP Tour of Conference Center.

8:15 – 9:15 AM Class: "Getting the Most Out of Your Research in the Library: Research Guides, Reference Tools, Advice for Saving Time, Increasing Chances of Successful Research” (Hotel Conference Room) 9:30 – 10:30 Introduction and Tour of Library 10:30 – 11:30 Research at Family History Library and Begin Individual Consultations with Instructors and Library Staff. 10:15 – 11:30 Welcome, Introductions and Presentation by Library Staff, in Lobby of Family History Library. 10:15 – 11:30 Welcome, Introductions and Presentation by Library Staff, in Lobby of Family History Library.

Afternoon:

 

1:00 – 3:45 PM Research at Family History Library and Individual Consultations with Instructors and Library Staff 4:00 – 5:00 Class“Palatine Immigrants – Tracing and Locating 18th Century German Immigrants Online" (Hotel Conference Room).



Dinner:

 

5:15 - 6:00 Enjoy an exquisite dinner in the Plaza Hotel.



Evening:

 

7:15 Meet in the Hotel Lobby and around 7:30 – 9:00 experience an unforgettable evening with the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square, as they rehearse and prepare for Sunday morning's live broadcast televised throughout the world and carried on the CBS Radio Network.

(Hotel Conference Room) 9:30 – 11:30 Research at Family History Library and Individual Consultations with Instructors and Library Staff.

12:00-12:45 PM Lunch



Afternoon:

 

1:00 –5:00 PM Research at Family History Library and Individual Consultations with Instructors and Library Staff. 5:45 Meet In Lobby to walk 2 blocks for Dinner at "The Lion House."



Dinner:

 

6:00-7:30 PM, Enjoy a fabulous dinner evening finale in Brigham Young's Historic Home called "The Lion House," which was built in 1856, in order to accommodate his large family.



Evening:

 

At the "The Lion House," relax and socialize among friends and reminisce the wonderful week you created.
