Day 1: Arrival, Orientation, Introductions

(Sunday, September 8)



Afternoon:

 

After arriving at the Plaza Hotel, check into your hotel rooms, (if rooms are available at check-in), and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.



Dinner:

 

In the hotel's lobby, Road Scholar Registration and pick up information packet and meet the Coordinator(s) and in the hotel conference room and a dinner in the hotel's restaurant.



Evening:

 

In the hotel conference room, welcoming to Salt Lake City, introductions and Family History Research, overview of the week.

Day 2: An inspiring class discussion on Genealogy. Hands-on research experience with an expert Genealogist.

(Monday, September 9)

Breakfast:

 

The Plaza Hotel's JB's Family Restaurant, offers a delightful full breakfast buffet for a dining experience in a traditional family atmosphere.



Morning:

 

In the conference room, an opportunity to be inspire on which research tools will be useful for you at the Library throughout the day with an expert genealogist(s). Welcome, Introductions and Presentation by Library Staff, in Lobby of Family History Library.



Lunch:

 

Lunch will be in the Church Office Building Cafeteria, where you will enjoy a wonderful selection of lunch options. A shuttle will be available for those who are unable to walk a short distance, a couple of blocks, to the Church Office Building.



Afternoon:

 

Continue your extensive research at the Family History Library with individual consultations and expert genealogists in order to expand your search for your ancestors.



Dinner:

 

Enjoy an exquisite dinner in the Plaza Hotel.



Evening:

 

In the conference room, an engaging and simulating class discussion on tracing your ancestors from one generation to another. Afterwards, enjoy a free evening on your own to explore in and around downtown Salt Lake City, or continue to do more research in the Family History Library.

Meet in the Hotel Lobby for an experience an unforgettable evening with the world famous Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Temple Square, as they rehearse and prepare for Sunday morning's live broadcast televised throughout the world and carried on the CBS radio Network.

Day 6: Review and Wrap-up and Hands-on research experience with an expert Genealogist. Enjoy a finale Dinner at "The Lion House," one of Brigham Young's home.

In the conference room, a wonderful review of the extensive week of family history research with the Coordinator(s). Afterwards, head out to the Family History Library and do some research.



Lunch:

 

Lunch will be in the Church Office Building Cafeteria, where you will enjoy a wonderful selection of lunch options. A shuttle will be available for those who are unable to walk a short distance, a couple of blocks, to the Church Office Building.



Afternoon:

 

Continue your extensive research at the Family History Library with individual consultations and expert genealogists in order to expand your search for your ancestors.



Dinner:

 

Enjoy a fabulous dinner evening finale in Brigham Young's Historic Home called "The Lion House," which was built in 1856, in order to accommodate his large family.



Evening:

 

At the "The Lion House," relax and socialize among friends and reminisce the wonderful week you created. Receive passport stickers for your Road Scholar passport book, in order for you to keep track of how many programs you have attend.

Restaurant, offers a delightful dining experience in a traditional family atmosphere, not only for lunch and dinner, also, offers full breakfast buffet. Program ends after Breakfast Saturday.
