Program #21497RJ
14 Days | 13 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Mackinac Island and the northern shore of Lake Huron boast some of the most picturesque landscapes in North America, and this matchless natural beauty is the setting for a fascinating loop around the third-largest freshwater lake on the planet. Depart from historic Detroit to car-free Mackinac Island for a sojourn back to a simpler time. Then set off to savor the quaint, historic and culturally rich islands and small towns along the north shore of Lake Huron. Stay a night or two at Sault Ste. Marie, Manitoulin Island, Tobermory and Collingwood, journeying from each charming locale to the next as you learn about the First Nations peoples who occupied the Canadian wilderness and the European pioneers who came west to tame this land. Conclude your journey with two nights in the world-class city of Toronto.

• Local interpreters help you discover the charming communities of Little Current, South Baymouth, Tobermory and Collingwood, as you hop from port to port.
• History comes alive in a stay at the Grand Hotel on historic Mackinac Island, where you explore by horse-drawn carriage as you study island architecture and history, concluding at Fort Mackinac.
• Board the Agawa Canyon Train for a scenic, 114-mile trek through the rugged Canadian wildernessand explore Lake Huron and Georgian Bay by boat on excursions from Little Current and Tobermory.
