Program #21654RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Challenging
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Experience the active adventure of a lifetime as you hike amid the glacier-sculpted majesty of the Teton Range. Walk the trails of Grand Teton National Park with a seasoned naturalist who directs your discovery of the ecological relationships and adaptations of this complex ecosystem. After an exhilarating day of hiking, enjoy the exceptional accommodations at beautiful Togwotee Mountain Lodge, just west of Grand Teton National Park, and Jackson Lake Lodge, a National Historic Landmark inside park boundaries.

Highlights

• Challenge yourself with rigorous hikes against the backdrop of the Tetons, including a hike on the Phelps Lake Trail in Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve and a boat ride across Jenny Lake to Cascade Canyon Trail.
• An expert naturalist and fellow lifelong learner provides on-trail insight into the importance of the areas protected by Grand Teton National Park and the 18,000,000-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
• Spend two of five nights at historic Jackson Lake Lodge, the premier eco-friendly resort in Grand Teton National Park, architecturally distinct from the customary rustic style National Park Service construction.

Activity Notes

Hike 6-9 miles per day on established trails; uneven, rocky terrain, possible loose rock, gravel and dirt. Elevations 6,500 feet to 9,000 feet.
