Program #20140RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
The natural beauty and unique culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains has attracted photographers for more than a century. Discover this area with your digital camera and perfect your skills with classroom instruction and field-excursions led by an award-winning photographer. Enjoy nature walks along the Blue Ridge, urban scenes of Asheville, and the rustic beauty of a pioneer homestead. The seasonal autumn colors offer a perfect backdrop to all of your photographs.

Highlights

• Under the guidance of an experienced photographer and teacher, gain a better understanding of photographic techniques, composition, post-processing, and creativity.
• Enjoy opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and learn how to photograph landscapes, architecture, close-up subjects, people, water-flows, and more.
• Benefit from one-on-one instruction along with helpful photo-critique.

Program Notes

Participants are expected to have read the instruction manual for their cameras and be familiar with their basic operations. Opportunities for traveling companions to attend a different program at Montreat in the same week, if they are not as "focused" on photography as you.
