Program #21597RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join other active women for a front-row seat to the riparian habitat, geology and natural history of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as you raft and canoe together along the Yellowstone River and hike and fly fish in Yellowstone National Park. Naturalists and seasoned rafting and fishing experts will narrate five days of experiential learning as the river and the park envelop you in a week of wild water adventure.

• Spend five days falling in love with one of the great treasures of America as local experts familiarize you with the complex ecological relationships and adaptations of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
• Raft and canoe a portion of the Yellowstone River; enjoy premier fishing and hiking experiences in the area around the Canyon of the Yellowstone; experience the heart of Yellowstone as you visit and hike around the Old Faithful area.
• Bring home memories of a cherished social and educational experience in the company of other women who share your active, adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors.

Activity Notes

Rafting up to 10 miles on Class I-III whitewater. Canoe 3-4 miles on Day 4 on Class I-II whitewater. Moderate hiking 3-6 miles on maintained trails at elevations up to 7,900 feet. Fly fishing up to six hours.

Date Notes
This date will coincide with program #13845 Yellowstone: The Great Caldera. This would be a good option for a male travel partner or companion who would like a less active option. The two groups will share some meals, motel and one day to Old Faithful.7/12/2015
This date coincides with another active program # 4874 Hiking in Yellowstone: Take a Walk on the Wildside. This would be a good option for a male traveling companion or one who doesn`t want the activity on the water.
