ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Bringing the “auld sod” stateside is at the joyful heart of a weeklong immersion in Irish culture in West Virginia’s Mountain Highlands. World-renowned musicians, scholars and dancers from throughout Ireland and America teach, perform and set the tone for merriment. Learn about Irish history, poetry, songs, literature and the Gaelic language through lectures, performances and discussions — and be at the ready for delightful, musical jam sessions in a 110-year-old pub.

• Morning classes delve into Irish set and ceili dancing, as well as Irish folklore.
• At night, ballad singers, pipers, fiddlers and harpists play Irish, Cape Breton and Appalachian music.
• On the final afternoon, the week’s exploration of Irish culture is delightfully played out when participants perform individually or as a class — or applaud from the sidelines.
