Program #21351RJ
10 Days | 9 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Program date intended for grandparents, their children and grandchildren ages 8 - 18.

Strike it rich on this quintessential family learning adventure along Alaska’s historic, wild and rugged Inside Passage. From the comfort of our small ship, thrill to an enriching frontier wilderness experience at every port — from a mountaintop view aboard a tram high above Juneau to rare totem poles, from learning about humpback whales and glaciers to seeing lumberjacks climbing trees at jaw-dropping speed.

Highlights

• Experience the massive Mendenhall Glacier, board a skiff to explore Sawyer glacier and quietly view wildlife in Hobart Bay.
• Walk through a magical forest to the Chief Son-I-Hat Whale House to view totems from 1880 and view Wrangell's petroglyphs carved 8,000 years ago.
• Scout for whales, otters, bears, moose and eagles, and delve into boots-on geology through rock collection and identification, plus hands-on native craft projects.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile. Climbing in, out of small craft. Paddling kayaks. No elevator on vessel; access requires steep stairs.
