Road Scholar
Program #20521RJ
5 Days | 4 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.
San Diego’s sun, sand and surf are known worldwide, but the beach and the climate form only a small part of its allure. Founded as the first California mission, today San Diego is home to nearly 1.5 million residents in an eclectic mix of interesting neighborhoods, an energetic, revitalized Victorian quarter and a venerated oceanographic institute Enjoy rich history and culture in an idyllic climate as you see for yourself what makes San Diego special.

Highlights

• Stay on beautiful Mission Bay, in a resort setting with easy access to an array of outdoor activities.
• Join expert led field trips through Old Town; the San Diego Mission; the Hotel Del on Coronado Island; Little Italy and the Gaslamp or “new town” where every building tells a story.
• Choose a museum to visit in fascinating Balboa Park and gain an insight into the Chicano identity reflected in the murals of their "barrio."
