Program #2520RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 12 years of age.

Share a week with your grandchildren you'll never forget at the spectacular red rock cliffs of Sedona and the majestic Grand Canyon. Enjoy two full days of activities in Sedona. Venture into the beauty and serenity of Oak Creek Canyon and red rock country, and enjoy program activities revolving around natural history, arts and crafts, and music. Then experience the Grand Canyon: a day visiting the South Rim; a trip to the bottom of the canyon on a virtually unknown Hualapai Indian road; an exciting 37-mile whitewater adventure in motorized pontoon rafts on the Colorado River; and a helicopter flight to the rim as a finale! Explore the incredible vastness of the Canyon, along with natural history and geology activities. The program spends a large part of every day outdoors (all day for the raft trip). Cooler morning hours visit spectacular red rock and canyon scenery, with creek wading and swimming. The heat of the day is spent at indoor activities or in the swimming pool.

Highlights

• Walk along Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim and drive a Hualapai Indian road to the bottom of the canyon.
• Experience a 37-mile whitewater adventure in the Grand Canyon on a motorized pontoon raft. Conclude the trip with a dramatic helicopter flight to the rim.
• In Sedona, see Montezuma Well National Monument's ancient ruins, play in Oak Creek as you gaze at towering red rocks, and touch local desert critters during a wildlife presentation.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile on multiple trail surfaces, some uneven, sloped terrain. Elevation up to 7,000 feet. Getting in and out of rafts requires agility.
